rehmwa 2 #5 May 25, 2011 it shouldn't matter to any of us. More importantly, it shouldn't matter to HIM either. What do you think? Does he classify himself by pointless cosmetic stereotypes? ... Andy9o8 2 #8 May 25, 2011 Quotei say he's white - others say he's black. what do you think? Yep. Back when I was a teenager at home, every once in a while my mom - who always tries to not be overtly "prejudiced" - would scrutinize some olive-skinned or kinky-haired (etc.) person on TV, and ask "Is he black?" (not out of bigotry; really just for her own information), to which I'd respond, "Mom, if you really have to ask, then do you really have to ask?" SpeedRacer 1 #9 May 25, 2011 Obama is of both European and African ancestry. It is really getting to the point where we should throw away the whole black/white concept. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------

The entire American style of "classifying" a person's "race", or for that matter, "ethnicity", is so arbitrary and rife with inconsistencies as to be utterly (and factually) useless.
