riddler 0 #1 May 1, 2011 The Man Of Steel is no longer a patriot. QuoteHe may stand for truth and justice, but Superman is giving up on the American way. In issue #900 of Action Comics, the Man of Steel renounces his United States citizenship. According to ComicsAlliance, the comic book sees the superhero flying to Tehran to support protesters who are demonstrating against the Iranian regime. But the security advisor to the U.S. president becomes upset with him because the Iranian government mistakenly believes Superman was sent there by America and considers his actions an act of war. After realizing that he behaved foolishly, Superman decides that he will renounce his American citizenship at the United Nations the next day but continue to fight crime from a global perspective. Superman—an alien who came to Earth from the planet Krypton—explains that he "can't help but see the bigger picture" and that the world is "too connected" for him to identify himself as being solely American. "Superman is a visitor from a distant planet who has long embraced American values. As a character and an icon, he embodies the best of the American Way," DC Comics co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio told CNN in a statement. "Superman announces his intention to put a global focus on his never ending battle, but he remains, as always, committed to his adopted home and his roots as a Kansas farm boy from Smallville," the co-publishers said. Kennedy 0 #2 May 1, 2011 Repost. And the point is that he's going to stand for the same things, without petty national issues interfering. Don't you think he can stand for all the good things inferred by truth justice and the American way without letting America's shortcomings and other folk's issues with America get in the way?witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Sort of. Another way of saying that is that he can indeed stand for truth and justice without letting the bad parts of the American way - get in the way. rehmwa 2 #4 May 1, 2011 Silly stuff. He should just incorporate as a private entity and retain his citizenship. Nothing wrong with any part of0 the whole quote "truth justice and the American way" Now, as an illegal alien....was there any issue where he naturalized? ... I think he's asking because you can't renounce citizenship that you don't have. This made me wonder: what does Clark Kent put on his 1040? Citizen? Naturalized Alien? Resident Alien? Something else?witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
TriGirl 343 #7 May 2, 2011 So, essentially, he went to do something nice for a group of people in need. However, because this group made an incorrect assumption, and claimed his involvement was directed by a government with which they have disagreement (thereby claiming injury by said government), he makes the knee-jerk reaction to renounce his affiliation to make everyone "happy" about getting his "help"? No, he couldn't have just expected intelligent minds to learn to accept the difference between a person's affiliation and personal actions. muff528 3 #11 May 2, 2011 So ...I'm assuming he is going to be taking direction from the UN and begin issuing unequivocal super-condemnations for the global community. Probably pays better than working for a newspaper these days.
