Bus bomb in Jerusalem

Recommended Posts

Hamas must feel like they're not getting enough attention these days, what with Iran, Iraq, and Libya stealing the middle east spotlight. Awww, poor widdle wewigious psychopafs... Does somebody need a hug from a suicide bomber?

And two Grad missiles (big rockets) on Be'er Sheva, over 50 mortar shells last week on one day and a couple every day.

I don't like where this is going...

Other than another blood bath in Gaza where do you see this going?

Any thoughts on why the recent upsurge is happening now Ori?

I would say with all the things going on around them in the Arab world... that Hamas was not getting any attention and were starting to feel particularly irrelevant.

I have no idea.
Don't really understand the motives of these idiots...

All I know is that if rockets keep flying out of Gaza again (and so far they are), Israel will be dragged into this mess again.

Hamas aren't psychopathic or stupid regardless of how you feel about their theology.

And Israel aren't being dragged in to anything when they are occupying other people's land and destroying their entire society.

Also no mention of the family and children that were killed by Israel - but thats standard.

Do you really want to debate the merits ofHamas versus Israeli control of Gaza?

Edit to add: So by saying this you infer its understandable. Lets call it retribution for the above mentioned killed by Israel say..... 18months ago. This infers you condone perpetuation of violence. Am I wrong.

EDIT: You need to fill out your profile so we know who you really are. Stand up for your beliefs and don't hide behind a pseudo.

Hmmm didn't the German people make a similar mistake about 75 years ago. Electing a government democratically depends on just how stupid a large enough number of them really are. Why don't YOU gop watch a few hundred hours of Palistinian TV.... oh wait.. you already have similar views that they spout daily.

Well done:S

OK, I'll skip the godwin's law response. Let's talk about merits.

The Israelis were attacked and won the war. (doesn't it sucks when your victims practice effective self defense?) they gave up the vast majority of the land they seized. They kept three small sections due to their strategic value and repeated attacks launched from them. Hamas is a rerrorist organization the targets civilians including women and children. None of the involved parties are innocent.

Hamas has a right to exist, yes or no?
Israel has a right to exist, yes or no?
Which one has the destruction of the other as a founding principle?

If Israel pulled all forces out of Gaza and ended the blockade, what do you think would happen? Would the attacks stop? Would Jews in the area, if any, be allowed to live peacefully? Egypt is working with Israel. Is any country willing to admit working with Hamas? Why?

Do you have any understanding of the history of Transjordan?

Have you ever thought Hamas was wrong and Israel was right for even a single instance?

What do you think of the busstop bombing mentioned in the OP?

Its pretty easy - one maintains hospitals and the other shells hospitals.

Bombing civilians is never acceptable so no I didn't say its understandable. It is obviously to be expected. Actions garner reactions.

This is exactly the point I'm making. It wasn't 18 months ago. It was about 48 hours before the bus attack when Israel shelled a family home.

Yes, you are completely wrong. It infers that the level of discussion inside the US/UK is fraudulent, pathetic and ironically much more ideological than in the Israeli media itself.

For the ignorant the clock starts ticking when Israel are attacked - so again where is the thread about Israel shelling civilians 48 hours before the bus attack? None existent - standard in the US and UK.

Unlike the dozens of massacres Israel carried out in 1948 against Palestinian civilians? Seems like it would suck more when you can't defend yourself.

But not all so at least we have cleared the air in this department and recognise that Israel has broken international law for decades.

Yes they are - just like Israel - none of the parties are innocent.

Yes, yes and Israel. Hamas have publically stated they support both a two state solution and that during peace talks they would support the decision of the Palestinian people.

If you think they are lying and will only do what their charter states then there is a very simple way of destroying all their credibility - take them up on the repeated verbal offers of peaceful settlement and then point self satisfactorily as they fail to uphold these statements.

Obviously Israel will not since they have demonstrated quite clearly since '04 or so that they are fearful of the peace offensive.

Unlike Israel they have actually maintained ceasefires.

Israel don't have to pull out of the Gaza. They have to pull out of all the occupied territories, accept the right of return and begin to negotiate an actual peaceful settlement in accordance with the opinion of the entire world.

Do you have any understanding of the region in general?

Doesn't seem like it when you cry constantly about Hamas when they are a reaction to a much larger problem.

We get it - they are theological barbarians and terrorists and guess what else? They've only existed since the late '80s so who was your scapegoat before that?

Hamas are constantly wrong on a whole range of issues and actions. Israel are too except they have a much greater capacity for violence and are constantly occupying other people's land and destroying another people's society.

One builds hopsitals, the other attacks them with car bombs and suicide vests.

Attacking government and military targets is to be expected. Blowing up a bus stop is terrorism. Not equivalent in terms of force or morality.

Should I just get you pom poms, a bullhorn, and "I Hamas" tshirt? Or would you prefer the "Death to the Great Satan" tshirt?
