nigel99 616 #1 March 8, 2011 The coalition has held together for nearly a year now. It is interesting that it is no longer "news worthy". My view is that it has been a success and has moderated the changes. I am very happy to see it continue and am generally impressed with how things have proceeded.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. Skyrad 0 #2 March 8, 2011 I agree but I think the Lib Dems will be wiped out at the next election. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
nigel99 616 #3 March 8, 2011 QuoteI agree but I think the Lib Dems will be wiped out at the next election. Why? If anything I think they have gained credibility and while the "wierdy beardy" lib dem voters will probably go and vote for the communist party or something, I would imagine a fair number of labour and sensible people will support them.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. Skyrad 0 #4 March 8, 2011 Because I don't think that enough Labour voters will swing to the Libs to replace the flood of Lib voters that will most likely swing to Labour. he student fees issue really smashed their support base. I think it more likely that the next coalition would have to be between the Conservatives and Labour or Labour and a rag tag bunch of greens and others. I'd be surprised if the conservatives get enough votes for a majority after another three years. However if the economy turns around and they don't get us involved in any more stupid wars I guess you never know. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. I don't really like any of the parties but I think the conservatives offer the best of a bad bunch. I think we are in for a world of pain as far as the economy goes. I think for the next 5 to 10 years it will be difficult IF we are prudent and don't simply sweep the issue under the carpet. Labour screwed up with making everyone think that they "deserve" a degree at little or no cost.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. Skyrad 0 #6 March 8, 2011 I agree about the Conservatives but as for Labour and education, before them University attendance was a right which was totally free. When I did my undergrad I didn't pay a bean, in fact the Gov payed for me and paid me to do it on top...
