He starts out forcefully supporting the public sector unions in WI and as a result his poll number take a shit and he bails! WAFJ

This is why politicians are so well liked huh (not just him)

If he really believes that they need a union then fight for it

I would not agree but I respect a person making their point and being consistant

Mr Wellstone comes to mind[:/]

is his job not to represent as many ordinary peoples views as possible? if he takes a point of view thinking its what his electorate want and then finds out they dont want that what is the problem with him changing it?

"...But others say Obama, as the leader of the Democratic Party, should do more to help the labor movement, which provides money and grassroots organizing muscle for Democratic candidates and whose power is now threatened by Republican efforts to curtail collective bargaining rights.

"Everybody is looking to the president on this one," said Amy Dean, a labor activist and former AFL-CIO official in California. "The grassroots infrastructure of the Democratic Party is organized labor."

Rep. Raul Grijalva (D., Ariz.), a co-chairman of the House Progressive Caucus, agreed. "There's a bully pulpit there that the president has, and it needs to be used," he said. "I don't think you can turn the cheek on this one."

Power struggle.
Walker and his pig-headedness are unwilling to negotiate...I'm in power here and don't you forget it!
The Dems are all about the "power" they currently have and don't want to jeopardize it.

The Dems are pissed because Obama won't step up and help preserve their perceived power base.

It's not about what's good for the country/state. It's about the "POWER"!

IMO, this is one case where Obama just may be right. I don't know that because I don't know what he has in mind for his reasoning for not stepping up...yet. But it appears that he wants to take a more bipartisan route towards financial responsibility.
My reality and yours are quite different.

He doesn't have time for this. Apparently he's running for president of Libya and Egypt (even though the people of those countries really don't care.

Not that you could tell from the news reports).

Reporter to Egyptian man on the street "So, how do you feel about Pres Obama's support of your efforts and his discussions with your leaders"

Egyptian man "this is OUR action and WE will change our government and want the US to stay out of it. We don't listen to your stupid president today, we listen to the Egyptian PEOPLE!!"

Reporter to camera "There you have it. The Egyptian people are THRILLED with president Obama and think he is the main cause of their CHANGE of government to a democratic model. Back to you"

Stimulous funds did not go to shovel ready jobs but to unions, not to just shore up their personal benefit plans but to keep them employeed so that their UNION DUEs would still be flowing into the Dem. Party which they supported to the tune of 400 Million in the last presidential election.

The big stink is Unions don't care about the Budget, they care about their power within the Dem. Party. They are more than willing to have a State or our Country face Bankruptcy just don't touch their money machine which is average tax payers that work in the Private Sector.

See, I don't blame either party.

I blame 3 things:

1 - The requirements for PRO ratings to do demos we could always do a couple decades ago without PRO permission.

2 - AADs

3 - The COACH rating

But I blame Clinton for the 2nd item and Bush for the 1st and 3rd

(This will allow half the people here now to argue that AADs are good, and the other half to argue Coach and PRO)

What about the children...and their GoPro's?

They are misunderstood. The government should immediately finance free Go Pro's for everyone.

See, we just collect from every individual, the amount of a new Go Pro - we add $50 for processing, congress travel fees, and shipping, and then - viola! - everyone gets FREE GoPros in the mail.

After the mandatory training (mostly on sensitivity), all can use their free GoPros responsibly as defined by the local government watch group finance by small increases in property taxes.
