millertime24 8 #1 February 21, 2011 So I'm still waiting for my DPMS 3G1 upper, but I saw this upper on KSL for a steal and bought/mounted it. Here's some fun facts on the features of this rifle... -CMMG lower -JARD Single Stage 2' trigger -Houge Pistol Grip -CMMG 6 Position adjustable stock -ATI upper -DPMS Fluted 16" barrel -DPMS Flip-Up rear sight -DPMS National Match Bolt Carrier assembly -EMA Tactical Magazine Well Grip This was a really fun gun to build, but when my DPMS 3G1 upper comes in I think Ill have an "event" in my pants. Anywho, AR fans ENJOY!!! People who think these guns are evil and should be not owned by noone.... Go fuck yourself.Muff #5048

I "heard" and now believe once you have ONE of these things in your gun locker, they tend to multiply. I dont know about that, but I'm already looking at another lower... And for the record, while I don't like kids, I would NEVER send them to school with a toy such as this. Can't handle the liability...ETA- Didn't read your post fully. Add to that the use of a round that is deemed inadequate for deer-size animals by any game warden with the most basic skill set and you have a fundamentally shitty design. As an ejection-seat rifle to be used by a Lieutenant for basic survival purposes in the period of time it takes to link up with friendly forces, the AR-15 was mediocre to okay. As a primary combat firearm it is a truly dreadful choice. As a target rifle, it may have a lot going for it. I, however, have no use for the damned thing. JohnRich 4 #16 February 21, 2011 QuoteI've been shooting PMC 55Grs. FMJ-BT in my M-15. Any opinions? 55-grainers are only good out to about 300 yards. At the shooting matches I attend, they're not even allowed past 300 yards because they are deemed "unsafe" to the target pullers down in the pits. Too much of a chance to blow off target, hit the wood frame, and send splinters flying. If you're only shooting under 300-yards, they're good. But then if you go to heavier bullets, you have to make sure you have a barrel twist rate that is fast enough to stabilize them, usually a 1 in 7. How does it shoot? Couldn't tell you. I didn't say I didn't know what they were. I was simply commenting on the propensity of people to stick together a bunch of different parts from a bunch of different manufacturers. Once you've done that, the question becomes: will it function correctly, and will it shoot accurately. I've seen a lot of people clunk together different stuff like this, and then it never works reliably, or shoots like shit. So, good luck with it, and I hope it works out for you. It's a nifty idea for anyone with a quality reloading setup, but I wouldn't shell out for the factory stuff. It caught my eye with the "full power" lighter bullet and the quiet heavier bullet, but unless you REALLY want a .30 cal suppressed rifle that handles like an AR15 it's not anything you can't do better with another round. What I want is a .308 with two uppers: one SBR for close-in work and one longer barrel for reaching out and ruining something's day.
