Check out my new "evil black gun"

Recommended Posts

So I'm still waiting for my DPMS 3G1 upper, but I saw this upper on KSL for a steal and bought/mounted it. Here's some fun facts on the features of this rifle...

-CMMG lower
-JARD Single Stage 2' trigger
-Houge Pistol Grip
-CMMG 6 Position adjustable stock
-ATI upper
-DPMS Fluted 16" barrel
-DPMS Flip-Up rear sight
-DPMS National Match Bolt Carrier assembly
-EMA Tactical Magazine Well Grip

This was a really fun gun to build, but when my DPMS 3G1 upper comes in I think Ill have an "event" in my pants. Anywho, AR fans ENJOY!!! People who think these guns are evil and should be not owned by noone.... Go fuck yourself.B|

I know it's hard to see, but that is a box of .22LR. Wont work in this gun. Glad you like it.:)

It *could* work in that gun...yup, couldn't see it in the picture.

Well, have fun shooting!

...and because you own such an evil thing, I'll bet you can hardly resist the urge to go shoot up a schoolyard full of kids, right? We all know that firearms take over the minds of their owners and compel them to do such things.

I "heard" and now believe once you have ONE of these things in your gun locker, they tend to multiply. I dont know about that, but I'm already looking at another lower...

And for the record, while I don't like kids, I would NEVER send them to school with a toy such as this. Can't handle the liability...:o

ETA- Didn't read your post fully. No I have no desire at all to shoot any person with this gun... Just targets.

DPMS 3G1... KSL... CMMG... JARD... Houge... ATI... DPMS... EMA...

Well, it certainly has enough acronyms to go with it.
But how well does it shoot?

Here in the military, we have an acronym, WWWDWA.
-What
-Would
-We
-Do
-Without
-Acronyms

BTW, the only 3 in your list of "things I dont know" would be ATI, KSL and EMA. Anyone who knows anything about AR's knows who DMPS, CMMG, and Houge are. DPMS makes AR's, JARD makes triggers, and CMMG makes AR's. "Houge" only makes accessories for the AR, and that's the name of the company. EMA makes tactical accesories for AR's KSL is a local news station with a classified section (hence how I got my upper).

How does it shoot? Couldn't tell you. I JUST built it. I'm going out to shoot it tommorrow..... meh, fuck it, Ill go cap a few rounds off my appt balcony....BRB...;)

Nice lookin' piece. ;)

It's evil. It does not matter that it's a 22. The mere fact that it is black and looks like a killer makes you an automatic psycho child wannabee mass murderer. Won't anyone think of the children? Be afraid, be very afraid of the evil black rifle.

The direct-impingement gas system is strictly third-world (think "Hakim"). Add to that the use of a round that is deemed inadequate for deer-size animals by any game warden with the most basic skill set and you have a fundamentally shitty design.

As an ejection-seat rifle to be used by a Lieutenant for basic survival purposes in the period of time it takes to link up with friendly forces, the AR-15 was mediocre to okay. As a primary combat firearm it is a truly dreadful choice.

As a target rifle, it may have a lot going for it. I, however, have no use for the damned thing.

I'm a gun lover, but it seems that you are merely trolling for controversy.

I've been shooting PMC 55Grs. FMJ-BT in my M-15. Any opinions?

55-grainers are only good out to about 300 yards. At the shooting matches I attend, they're not even allowed past 300 yards because they are deemed "unsafe" to the target pullers down in the pits. Too much of a chance to blow off target, hit the wood frame, and send splinters flying. If you're only shooting under 300-yards, they're good. But then if you go to heavier bullets, you have to make sure you have a barrel twist rate that is fast enough to stabilize them, usually a 1 in 7.

I didn't say I didn't know what they were. I was simply commenting on the propensity of people to stick together a bunch of different parts from a bunch of different manufacturers. Once you've done that, the question becomes: will it function correctly, and will it shoot accurately. I've seen a lot of people clunk together different stuff like this, and then it never works reliably, or shoots like shit. So, good luck with it, and I hope it works out for you.

Yeah, I liked the Ruger, too. And it's only one stamp. I bet you can't hear the report over the sound of the action cycling.

As for the blackout, no we really don't need it, and I'm not really interested in it. It's a nifty idea for anyone with a quality reloading setup, but I wouldn't shell out for the factory stuff. It caught my eye with the "full power" lighter bullet and the quiet heavier bullet, but unless you REALLY want a .30 cal suppressed rifle that handles like an AR15 it's not anything you can't do better with another round.

What I want is a .308 with two uppers: one SBR for close-in work and one longer barrel for reaching out and ruining something's day. You have any experience with the new SCAR ACR or XCR new guns? or the LMT rifle they're sending to the UK for the brit version of SDMs?

That thing looks as precious as a plastic toy.

And .... your floor cover needs a cleaning.

:P

Yeah, I need to get the carpet cleaned. I can assure you that this thing is no plastic toy. I went out shooting it today and it will turn 1 gal of water into a fine mist. I can also hit a 5" (I think) clay target @ 100 yds pretty consistantly from the bech with the iron optics on this gun. I was using cheapo AE 55gr ball ammo so I'm thinking about working up some reloads and taking it back out to see if that helps accuracy any.

ETA- I bought a few PMAGS and found that with the magwell grip they got a bit bound up (I had to pull them out). Took a rasp to the grip where the mags were interfering and now they drop out like butter.

I got to play with one (SCAR), but I wouldn't call it any experience. Only got to run a mag through it. It was OK. I didn't get all excited about it, but it was neat. What do you want to bet that 'ol LouDiamond has got to put a few hundred through one of them?
