The reality is I am not sure if it would even be possible for you to get through with a false passport. I do know someone who got through immigration only to find that he had his wifes passport (not automated).

My favourite though is the people who are full of self importance. They get to Heathrow look at the very long queue for non-UK and mention to an official that they shouldn't be with other nationalities because they have an American passport! I've seen 1 or 2 instances of the Brits doing the same in the US.
Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
