The need for universal traffic symbols has been understood - and widely implemented! - almost world-wide for decades. And then there's the US. I don't have sympathy for the insular American attitude of instinctive reluctance (and sometimes refusal) to look beyond our own borders for examples of how maybe, just maybe, things might be done a little bit better. It's notthe best, but it's a good example of some standard signs. Better tests remove all letters and expect license applicants to get 100%. Is there anyone here who can't pass that? Funny thing is you could probably drive in most of Europe and the middle east without having trouble with signs there, either. There is an international standard for traffic signs. It's the Vienna Convention. For the two countries that follow it least, just look at the far east and the far west: Japan and the USA.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
