You need Jesus to show some humanity...?

Jeeze, talk about pedantic.

It is very unlikely that I would have been there to help him if I had not been converted.

That's messed up.

Ya it is messed up...why didn't any of his "muslim brothers" in the area bother to help him out?

I'm afraid you overestimate the world's willingness to be humane...

>>Yep. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

>Not necessarily.

OK, I'll change the statement:

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, unless someone thinks they are superior to everyone else and are above treating others like they expect to be treated.

Of course, these are the people who scream the very loudest when someone else does it to them; it's one of the most fun parts about watching what happens in this place.

Why should something that is constitutionally protected (i.e. religious expression) be limited based on your tastes, while another (guns) should not?

Wendy P.
There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Also fair enough. Of course, guns disturb a LOT of people, so you'll have to be tolerant if they are removed to avoid infringing on their rights.

If people are blasting them away in unapproved public places-they already will be. Do you search the internet for shitty analogies or does it come naturally?

The great thing about my hometown is that on New Years, we all blast our guns in the air...muslims christians, and athiests alike.

It really is nice to live in a free society...that's one of the great things about Detroit - the freedom. You don't have to worry about the cops comming and ruining your good time.:)

Freedom of speech is limited, in some ways.

There are noise ordinances for a reason.

Wrong, it limits the volume and times that noise can be made.

Sound is not necessarily considered noise.

So you're all foolish together. As a responsible firearms owner, I object to such conduct. It's childish and dangerous.

How were last night's services at Westboro Baptist, Mark? It looks like you topped off your hateful bigotry tank good and proper, praise Jesus.

Blues,
Dave

Oh darn, and here I can't even invoke Godwin. [:/]

Want to see hateful bigotry? Watch Al-Jazeera (the Arabic, not the English-language version). You have no freakin' idea what bigotry is.

They don't always get it right.:|

When they dropped the bullets, they forgot to add rotation and spin from the rifling.

Why not? You didn't give much background - couldn't tell if you were a paramedic, or random passerby.

But if I come across a downed man who need help, I'm not going to debate his religion before helping, and I'm not going to a dick and tell him to praise God.

Oh, I can think of several cases where self-righteous people determined to impose their will on others suffered a bit of "natural" selection.

Yes, it is. A gun ban would be a start; after all, by banning the item in question (burkas, guns) the problem goes away.

There you go again, putting words in my mouth. Did I say anything about law?

How about they police themselves?

"A burkha ban took effect in Hesse on Wednesday. It's a start." A law, I believe.

>How about they police themselves?

I'm all for that (and for gun owners, as well.) Of course, you have to extend the same tolerance you expect people to show you to others who want you to tolerate _them._

And I can thnk of just just as many cases where it was a benefit to the world.
