RonD1120 62 #1 January 19, 2011 A psychiatrist explains. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzdu3WQyIZg I saw evidence of Dr. McLaren's claim in the field. As an assessment counselor in a psych hospital, my job was to present criteria to the admitting physician that would justify the admission and to convince the patient to sign in voluntarily. Psychiatrists would change diagnoses to fit what Medicare and/or insurance were currently accepting for payment. Edited to add comment.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. However, I also agree with the message from your link. The latter supports the former, aside from the Scientology BS. Twenty-five plus years in the field of social services convinced me that the "nannys in charge" were vengeful and powerful. My first encounter with the group was in Denver, CO 1975. They posted a classified seeking a substance abuse counselor. I applied for the position. The interview process led me through a labyrinth of offices. Each interview concluded with the close of me paying them money and joining their program. After about six or so of these "job" interviews I stated that I was not interested and desired to leave. I had to ask directions to find my way out. They scared the crap out of me.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them. Bolas 5 #23 January 19, 2011 The same thing is "wrong" with it is the same as everywhere else. People don't want to take accountability and responsibility for their own actions/inactions. So they make someone else responsible: family, friends, a diety, the government, a doctor, a celebrity, etc. Many times what's "wrong" with the person is simply they think something is wrong with them. Rather than accept that or change something, they get their doctor to prescribe some sort of drug or they recommend some sort of drug. Granted, there are people out there with serious issues that do need treatment and medication, but most likely far fewer than are actually on them or simply just the wrong people on them.Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. kelpdiver 2 #25 January 19, 2011 Quoteevery church is a "bunch of psychos".. Some are more psycho than others. I don't think anyone has ever worried about the Unitarian cult. Or the Buddhist Church. Scientology is pretty far along the extreme, only exceeded by the Hare Krishnas and Moonees, and then the ones that end with a glass of punch. A bit shallower are the Mormons and the Southern Christians, and then then the Catholics (modern day).
