There hasn't been a documented, first hand account of a person who was murdered, either. I have heard a couple of times someone say "I'm a dead man." Turtle though I appreciate your setiments I feel that there is nothing that I have done that deserves it. I do however feel that there are a great many that do from that time period that never received it. I try not to post in here much but that comment just got my ire up. They say that winners write the history, which is true, they do. I feel that in the past 20 years the "liberals" have come to see themselves as the winners. It reminds me of a certain Iranian President . . . He would have us the holocaust didn't happen. I guess if the spitting and shunning of the returtning American soldiers didn't happen, because some whack job wrote a book and said it didn't, and a teacher in a college says it didn't, then maybe the holocaust didn't either, and we are lookig at this all wrong.
Perhaps we should all be supporting President Ahmadinejad in his quest to correct history as it should be taught.

Feel free to ridicule me, but please don't equate me with holocaust deniers. It's well documented that the Germans killed millions in concentration camps, but it's clearly much less documented that US GI's were spit on after Vietnam.
Anyway, it's best not to bring up genocide while discussing Vietnam for obvious reasons.
Wasn't spat upon but immediatly after arriving back in the USA from SEA in 1969 and being discharged from the service, in uniform, while waiting for a flight home, I was refused service at a bar in the SFO airport. Talk about cruel, welcome home.

There were less people in volved - but if you wanted to, you could find plenty of evidence.
The idea that you would actually just believe what you were told even after a conflicting version was told to you says a lot.

Most of what I learned in that class came from all the books we read, not out of the professor's mouth. We also had some Vets come in and speak to us, etc.
College is not some scary secret society where professors preach lies and it is taken as gospel. Generally a lot of serious study and research is done. Everyone is encouraged to reach their own conclusions.
Frankly, we are mostly spoon fed your point of view by mainstream society (Vietnam movies, etc). Someone has to question the government line occasionally or we end up becoming what we thought we were fighting in that war.

Better yet, why dont you enlist and get some first hand experience on what its like to be in a firefight and having to survive on what you find out in the field. Give that a try and then report back with first hand knowledge rather than listening to some old hairy professor who hadnt seen any combat other than fighting in line of the grocery store to get his grey poupon.

Economy went down, not the people that had morals and wanted to use companies that don't hire illegals suddelny lost thier moral compass.
That, small town economics. The mortgage and lending trouble, that the country has, led to my bonding capacity being reduced because of stricter guidelines. Healthcare cost, dropped my own, Several reasons that if taken one at a time could have been overcome - but when you lump them all together, and at the speed and timing, it just isn't feasible.
