Andy9o8 3 #32 January 13, 2011 You're using a red herring, but I'll answer anyway. I am more qualified to describe my dad than an online stranger is. My description of his politics is accurate. His discomfort with Obama was partly a bit of very old-fashioned prejudice, combined with Obama's youth and inexperience, viewed against the experience and military record of McCain. But Dad's opinion of McCain's professional judgment fatally plummeted when McCain picked Palin for VP. Dad was horrified at the prospect of Palin a heartbeat away from a president in his 70's who had had cancer. Dad also thought Bush II was a fucking idiot, and that Clinton was a good President. So - anyone want to call my dad a lame coward to his face for being a moderate and occasional liberal Democrat? I'll set up the meeting.

He never admitted that race played a part in his thinking in the election, even when we needled him about it. But I know him, so that was my own conclusion. He thought Palin was a scaringly fucking idiot - based on the shit that came out of her own mouth, and her deer-in-the-headlights performance on interviews - and thus completely unqualified to be President-in-waiting. As a manager himself, he was disappointed in McCain's failure to examine her closely enough before choosing her. Clearly he's racist since he didn't agree with my politics" that's a nice PC liberal attitude there "Dad is clearly NOT sexist, because he had the same politics as me on this individual" that's a nice application as well "Oh and he didn't like McCain and he liked Hillary over Obama, and I approve of that position too" nothing add, it stands on its own of course, this is just SC discourse for the fun of it and my dad is tougher than your dad ...
