There is a very small segment of manufacturers that make a LOT of money off war, but in general, it drags everything else down. I'm not a fan of welfare either, but a society that let's its poorest individuals starve or live in the streets isn't a great one. There's a balance that has to be maintained either way. Welfare feeds the needy but doesn't kill people. Warfare feeds corporations, but does kill people. I dunno.
