Like a made up argument, perhaps, or did we skip a few years and it's 2014 now?

Hmmm seems to me that might be an expense ... one of those pesky things like big ole redneck trucks that are supposedly part of the cost of doing business... that we as taxpayers get to subsidize when they are written off

Speaking of made up arguments...

'death panels' already exist and act on people every day. families and doctors make life and death decisions and some people live because of it and some people die because of it.

Exactly the way it should be. I am all about it.

And if the government implements any program that helps families and doctors deal with these difficult decisions, then i am all about that as well.

Anyone who thinks that death is something that cannot be dealt with or should not be dealt with is in serious denial and out of touch with reality.

Pretty much my point all along.
I found it humorous that people screamed "death panels" when opposing the whole Obama care program. (Not that I agree or understand some portions of the plan though.)
"End of life planning" sounds so much nicer people won't even discuss it.

Just ask the Inuit who (formerly) put their elderly out in the snow when it was their time.

Whether it's called triage to efficiently utilize finite resources, or simply managing personal decisions on how to bow out with some sense of dignity, this is nothing new and 'we' should stop acting as if it were.

It's interesting how in our 20th/post-20th century 'first-world' cultures, we've collectively been more insulated from the raw face of death than any other time in human history, whether it be our own or that of those who die in our interests. Of course, this includes all that packaged meat in the grocery.

So now we have businesses making life and death decisions with their FINITE PROFITS... pure and all too simple.

Except for those that do not get what they paid most of thier lives for... funny how that seems to work.

Just wait till YOU are the one on the reciving end of a bunch of greedy bastards making a business decision

You have to be nice to illegal immigrants:

Didn't work out to well for the Native Americans

it is not the end of life planning that is the issue, it would be denial of care by a government agency that is the problem. The federal government should not be involved in choices made for someone's care and treatment.

Right now all care is denied unless you are on Medicare/Medicaid. So this is an improvement.

They're not. You can choose whatever care you want and spend however much you want. If you want the government to give you free care, you are going to take whatever they give you. Your choice.

Just like I posted earlier, everyone here is still confusing "Death Panels" and "End of life Planning". There is a difference.

Unless they are being specifically counseled to pull the plug if something happens, i don't know what the issue is.

Hmm. You said a while back that you would shut down your business if the healthcare package passed! Shall we believe you now, or are you making something up again?

I said I would have to - and it's coming close to that time.
