dgskydive 0 #1 December 21, 2010 HE is pissed about QuoteAssange was understood to be particularly angry with a senior reporter at the paper and former friend, for “selectively publishing” incriminating sections of the police report, although The Guardian made clear that the WikiLeaks founder was given several days to respond. Dude is pissed that people are not keeping his secrets. lol! http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/12/21/wikileaks-assange-turns-friends-foes/?test=latestnewsDom

popsjumper 2 #3 December 22, 2010 Yes, it's amusing. What's amusing is the show of those who decry his Wikileaks exposures yet wink and nod when the tables are turned. Here, they are saying, "You wanna cry about his exposures? Well whattya got to say about yours?" Response: "It's not OK for you to do but it IS OK for us to do it."My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. davjohns 1 #4 December 22, 2010 I understand your point, but have to disagree. There is a world of difference between publishing national secrets that hurt national security (and world peace indirectly) and publishing something that a man finds embarassing. If you only looked at the dollar value of damage done, the two are hardly comparable in any way. I think it is clear that Asange facilitated (inspired?) treason. It's hard to muster much sympathy for him as a rape defendant. Don't get too wild. I still believe he deserves a fair trial and it is possible he is completely innocent of these charges. I just think his stance on full disclosure and his discomfiture at the release of his information is paradoxical. To claim they are equal in status is silly.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
rehmwa 2 #5 December 22, 2010 They described the charges on the news and it was bit confusing. something like "consentual sex with two (scandinavian?) girls (different times)" and then they "later met each other and compared notes and decided to file rape charges afterwards". This is a confusing description (I think it was CNN) I believe he's a narcissistic creep and the idea that could have attacked these women is believable, but I wonder why the CNN description was so tortured. ... Whats good for the goose...right? Did the guy think that he would be able to do what he is doing, without any repercussions? He wants things open and transparent. Well he is getting a taste of his own medicine and doesnt like it. He is a hypocrite.Dom
Southern_Man 0 #7 December 22, 2010 Quote I think it is clear that Asange facilitated (inspired?) treason. It's hard to muster much sympathy for him as a rape defendant. I think Assange is a publisher and can post whatever he wants on his website. The people who leaked him information may (probably have) committed crimes against disclosing this sort of thing, but that is their action, not Assange's. There is a bit of irony that he would decry the release of his personal details, however, I would note that it is his attorney doing it, as far as I have seen, not he himself. I'm sure his attorney does not care about the irony, he is doing what he was hired to do, representing his clients best interests. I have no idea whether Assange did anything wrong or not. I certainly would not put it past the U.S. government to try to frame him but I don't know that either."What if there were no hypothetical questions?" These days anyone with a website thinks they are some sort of journalist. Just having a website and posting shit does not make one a journalist. Are we journalists because we post on dz.com? If you posted Govt. secrets on here, should you be protected in some way?Dom
