He called the prosecution a political vendetta by Democrats in the local district attorney’s office, and revenge for his role in orchestrating the 2003 redrawing of Congressional districts to elect more Republicans. “This is an abuse of power,” he said. “It’s a miscarriage of justice. I still maintain my innocence. The criminalization of politics undermines our very system.” Now that raht der is some funni ass chit From Wikipedia In 1998, DeLay worked to ensure that the House vote on impeaching President Bill Clinton was successful.[6] DeLay rejected efforts to censure Clinton, who, DeLay said, had lied under oath.[14] DeLay believed that the U.S. Constitution allowed the House to punish the president only through impeachment. He called on Clinton to resign and personally compelled enough House members to vote to approve two articles of impeachment.[14][15] The American public, however, soured on the Republican drive for impeachment, and Republicans paid the price at the polls during the 1998 congressional "midterm" election, as the GOP sustained a net loss of five seats to Democrats in the House of Representatives. juanesky 0 #4 November 25, 2010 Yes, we all know that losing 5 seats in the house, in mid terms is definitely a message from the voters. Trying to make your golden liar boy clinton look good? too late for that."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

He can be sentenced to as little as time served (at least that's what the local news said last night) which was really nothing since he was out on bond the whole time. hope he doesn't. He needs some time. I will say, however, that in listening to the DA , there was certainly a note of revenge in her voice. Might have been something else, but sure sounded like revenge. (don't get me wrong... not defending the dirty SOB) My feeling about Delay is this: When Delay first was charged, he lamented the "criminalization of politics". Well, I agree with that sentiment in principle. But the criminalization of politics is just a part of the uglification of politics - the politics of personal destruction, if you will - and Delay was among the meanest, nastiest practitioners of it. There's no doubt in my mind that Delay, given the chance, would gladly have caused an opposing politician to get indicted for the same kind of thing if he'd been able to arrange it. Thus, I feel Delay is getting what comes to him not because I don't like his political ideology, but because he's dying by the same sword by which he's lived. So he can just spare me his crocodile tears. Oh, and I'll be sending my application for a vanity license plate directly to his cellblock.

Trying to make your golden liar boy clinton look good? too late for that. DUD you SOOOOOO do not want to put all the men in the South in jail that have gotten blow jobs from women and other men and really do believe that they did not have sexual relations with that woman (or man). There are not enough cells in all of North America. I realize with your background that is impossible to believe but just like things that you do not understand about other cultures.. this is something about that culture that you are completely missing. Way too many of them will never be honest how they actually feel about what is and what is not THE sexual act.; In his mind Clinton did not and does not believe he lied under oath. Delay LIVED by the political smear.... He lived by destroying anyone who opposed him, he is a prominent example of what is truly wrong with our political system. He believes he is above any laws and acted accordingly... but because he cloaks himself in the cloak of the born again christian all the little fringe right christian conwservatives are willing to bend over backwards to believe in his innocence. In this country when you break election laws there are consequences.
