I cant seem to understand why this guy isnt in jail. What right does he have to ENTER a home without permission? To ENTER these kids bedroom?

Shouldn't this be unlawful entry? Harassment? He is luck he didn't get a bullet in him.

The principal would not talk with us, but his wife called Eyewitness News and told us there were facts not yet made public that would explain her husband's actions.

Good thing he has the little woman at home to protect him.

Breaking and entering seems to be the very least he should be charged with.

I wonder what charges they could give him for being in the room with minors in their underwear?

Attempted kidnapping? He was trying to get them to leave their residence and go with him.

How was a counselor involved in this? Why did she leave and the principal didn't?

Was his control being threatened?

Lacking some sort of pre-authorization, this is going to be hard to justify. Even if the parents had signed a permission contract with the school it seems like a position that I, as a school administrator, would never put myself in

I have never heard of such a thing where a parent would authorize a school official to enter their house and go collect their kids after they called in to say that the kids were ill and wouldn't be attending school.

I think there may be more to the story. Maybe the kids do have a history of truancy. But that still does not give him permission to enter a home. Seems like the counselor may have got mixed up and then figured out she was in a situation that was above her authority.

These school districts are getting WAY out of hand.

Even if the pricipal said, "the next time you don't show up, I'll come and get you!" - he doesn't REALLY get the authority to do that -

I agree. You asked about the counselor though. Sounds like she figured out they were doing something wrong and decided she didnt want part in it anymore.

Since that movie was back in the 80's he got his ass kicked. If they updated it to today...he woulda been shot in the face. He is lucky those kids didn't have guns and the dad didn't tell them to shoot anyone that enters the home without permission.

Hope he enjoys standing in his underwear while being searched prior to being put in his cell!

Maybe he can go hang out with his californian counterpart, they could put thier heads together and really break some civil rights.

Reminds me of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I was disappointed to see that the principal didn't get kicked in the face by one of the teenagers or chased by a pit bull. :D

If the kids were in bed, and the only ones home, maybe they didn't hear the knock or doorbell. Why wasn't the door locked?

Because the parents forgot and left the door unlocked when they went to work?[:/]
