dpcooper.112471 0 #1 November 13, 2010 Letter that went out to Jumptown banter the other day. Hello all. I've been noticing some disturbing things at Jumptown for awhile now. And, the time comes when you need to speak up. Jumptown is a CLUB - it belongs to ALL of it's members. And yet, it would appear that Jumptown is pretty much controlled by one person. You know who I mean, right? It's pretty obvious. So, how is that? Why does one person have so much power and control? And is that really such a good idea? Sometimes changes need to be made. Let's have a look at why… Let's start with this. I have it from a very reliable source (as in, straight from the horses' mouths) that prior to the last JT board of directors election, a number of club memberships were purchased by the monarchy for some not-so-regular jumpers and their spouses, in order that they might come and vote for the "right" people. And who are the "right people? Well not LaRiviere, who was backstabbed by the monarch, who told as many people as possible that he is only involved with JT for the money - what a load of crap (*Sorry if you don't know about his Keith, but it's the truth*) It seems the "right people" don't ask too many questions. They just turn up, nod their heads and keep things the way they are. They don't make waves or "upset" the monarch. The wrong people ask questions, open doors, and try to change things. Those people are regularly back-stabbed, ostracized and threatened with dismissal. After all, if too many questions are asked, there's no telling what might be found. Right? Unfortunately, when you avoid a lot of questions, eventually people get suspicious. That's where I come in. I've been watching how things "work" at Jumptown for about a decade. I'm aware that things are largely controlled by one person. Not good. So, I decided to poke around and try to figure out what's been going on behind the scenes. And lo and behold, what a surprise! Lookie what turned up! How many of you know that last August 2009 one of the oldest JT members sent a letter to the board of directors asking for a meeting about some concerns he had about management and money at JT? It takes an awful lot of balls to write such a letter when you are not a member of the "popular clique". And you know what happened since he submitted that letter? Well, after some investigation, I happen to know that the meeting he requested with the board of directors never happened. But since writing that letter, I also know that he has been badgered, back-stabbed and even threatened with dismissal - but never to his face Some of you may be asking… Well, why? Is asking questions wrong? Are we all supposed to be good robots, showing up to work and not asking any questions? Once again - this is a CLUB. Have you seen the letter? It's out there now... circulating. Someone will gladly forward it to you. Just ask around. It took some doing to get the thing, so you should really look at it. From what I can see, it went out to all members of the board, but most people never heard about it. Did you hear about it? Why was it was squashed? The concerns and letter were silenced and circular-filed. Interesting, don't you think? And then, soon after the letter, the rumors and talk started of firing him. Funny isn't that? I think so. Recently it seems that some other club members began to have questions about money - Jumptown's money. Apparently some of them met up at a local restaurant. I can't say what went on there, as I was not present. Apparently some not-so-nice things were said and accusations flew. After that, there was a little financial pow-wow called by the monarch, and a few JT members got a pretty lame looking financial spread sheet with no real details. Don't swallow the Kool Aide. That little meeting wasn't sufficient. If you have nothing to hide, you don't mind it when others open the drawers, now do you? So, there's a lot going on, of which you may not be aware. And think about this for a minute: isn't it a little odd that we are constantly having fundraisers for the same people… people who seem to have enough money for barns and horses and new canopies and cars and vacations? Why don't we have fundraisers for other club members when they get into car accidents or have a health crisis or even a skydiving accident? Open your eyes folks. Jumptown is a club, not a monarchy. And when long-standing, devoted employees and club members are afraid to speak ---because their jobs are then threatened or they are back-stabbed or made to feel like they are disloyal--- that is a serious indication of trouble. In fact, it's a disgrace. The club is changing. Do you know it's generating over a million dollars in revenue per year. That's a lot of money. Someone with a background in such things should have their eyes on the kitty. After all, what IS it with all the secrecy? I mean, Uncle Sam can have a look at the nitty gritty details any old time. Right? What happens if he turns up at the door? We should all know what is going on. After all, this is a CLUB. It isn't a monarchy.
