Muslims Burn Poppies in London, England

This is friggin ridiculous >:(

A large model of a poppy was burned in protest of the war in Afghanistan and several demonstrators chanted during two minutes of silence in London during Thursday morning Armistice Day ceremonies.

A group that calls itself Muslims Against Crusades chanted, "British soldiers burn in hell," and held signs saying, "Islam will dominate" and, "Our dead are in paradise, your dead are in hell."

The Remembrance Day protest, near Hyde Park, involved 50 members of the group, the Daily Mail newspaper reported.

Another 50 counter-demonstrators were also there. The two groups were separated by police.

"We are demonstrating because this day is a day of remembrance to remember every single fallen soldier, including those killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. We find it disgusting that innocent people, innocent children, have been killed in an illegal and unjust war and we are demonstrating against that,"

Asad Ullah of Muslims Against Crusades said, several media outlets reported.

"We want the government to pull the troops out from these countries and to stop interfering in our affairs."

On its website, which features photos of children injured or dead, the group called the protest "an emergency demonstration" to "break the silence."

In a video message, group member Abu Ubaidah said British soldiers, along with U.S. troops, are involved in assaulting, raping and murdering Muslims.

"The general British public, they show their support of the murdering of Muslims, by wearing the poppy," he said. "The two minute silence for the soldiers is a condemnable event and the wearing of the poppy is symbolic of the war against Islam and Muslims, which needs to be condemned. And we will not be silent."

Police told the Daily Mail three men were arrested - two for public order offences and one for assaulting an officer.

"The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo

What's next? Burning Christmas trees because they symobise an non-muslim holiday and by association anyone that owns one must support murdering Muslims??

It just goes to show you get idiots all over the place. I just wish the press wouldn't give them air time.

b. they're pretty gross. So are lots of other groups that protest
c. I'm sorry there weren't more people surrounding them peacefully

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

How long before the actual "peacefull" muslim's come out?[:/]

Probably about the same time as the peaceful Christians come out to stop the abortion clinic protests and bombings and killings. Just cuz they aren't out there stopping the radicals, doesn't mean they agree with them.

Burning Christmas trees wouldn't bother me. Heck, if they wait at least a week after Christmas I will donate mine so they can burn it. Save me the trouble of doing it myself.

You could set your clock by how quickly someone has to pop in comparing christians to muslims. What the muslim wackjobs are doing is not right, and it doesn't matter what fucking wackjob is saying it. Christian wackjobs, Jew Wackjobs, Muslim wackjobs, buddhist wackjob. They're all on fucking crack.

For probably the first time ever, I completely agree with you. You just enforced the point I was trying to make. Wackjobs are wackjobs regardless of what particular flavor of imaginary friend they follow. Not everyone who "believes" is a wackjob but the radicals are the ones that make the news whether Muslim or other. Personally I don't believe in any imaginary friend, but I think everyone should have the right to believe in whatever they choose as long as they aren't trying to impose those beliefs on others. Now here is the part where Skyrider will say that the Muslims try to do exactly that. Then we can argue that so do Christians and we go round and round.

My point was that there are plenty of peaceful Muslims just like there are plenty of peacful Christians, but certain people only care about the radicals because then they can feel good about being bigots.

Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or whatever, anyone with that little tack and respect for others really should be shown the door.

Accepting the benefit of residence in a country and then turning around and spitting in their host's face, well one can understand the hostile attitude towards them.

The people involved in this protest are truly committed to the Religion of Peace.

I recommend that their standards be honored. They should receive the precise level of hospitality as mandated in islamic locales.

Let's see, should they organize a demonstration with the burning of symbols and chanting that the local troops should burn in hell, what would be the preferred response in, say, Tehran? Riyadh? Islamabad? Jakarta?

They gloat that they are going to paradise. Bon voyage.

I don't believe I commented on birthplace OR citizenship.

You clearly implied it: "Accepting the benefit of residence in a country." Some of those protestors might have been immigrants. And some of them may have been native-born. But in any event, if you want the above to be your final (non-)answer, that's your choice.

So have peaceful Muslims.

Really? There are many Muslims in this town, not one has ever spoke out against it, including the parents of my dog sitter, when I ask them about how they feel, they dance around the subject...

And I've never heard a single Christian that I've met either in my town or at the DZ speak out against doctor killers. Think that means they support them?

Read the words carefully. Any implied meaning is yours.

The words themselves can apply to immigrants and native born alike. They can also apply to any length of residence, from a day to a lifetime. Just as I had intended them.

Do try to open your mind a bit, eh?
