Good jobs report

Not great, but over twice the anticipated jobs that were expected. Not enough to change the rate yet, but it sure beats nothing.

The last time there were this many created jobs was the census; that was artificial. This appears to be real.

Often a battleship can't be turned just real quick. It has a lot of momentum. I think the US is a little bigger than a battleship.

Here's another look.

We're still spending too much money. But, ya know -- we're looking at what costs money and trying to reduce it without just taking a crowbar to stuff.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
