CanuckInUSA 0 #1 November 3, 2010 Well you know it has already started, so who should be the GOP's 2012 Presidential Nominee? I pulled these names from CNN and sorted them based on their last names. I have to admit there are a few on this list I do not know much about (Barbour, Pawlenty, Santorum and Thune) and a few on this list who I just can't see them beating Obama (Gingrich and Palin) as long as Obama doesn't make any major mistakes with his remaining 2 years. I like Ron Paul for his common sense, but he likely makes too much sense for the GOP to ever pick him and I like Mitt Romney because he has a proven track record running successful private businesses, a proven track record running a government and was rather successful turning the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics around. Mitt Romney has something Obama does not have, leadership experience. But will his religion (being a Mormon) be something the GOP can accept? I am guessing no, but I have been proven to be wrong in the past. So who is it going to be? livendive 8 #3 November 3, 2010 IF there's not major gaffe by Obama, I suspect the GOP may find itself another Ross Perot, perhaps this time going by the name Gingrich or Palin. They'll keep the House, but lose a little traction, and the Senate will split evenly give or take a couple seats in either direction. The Presidential election will be close, but I expect we'll see another four years of Obama. IF Congress has finally gotten the message of the last 10 or so years, well then I'm optimistic about 2012. Of course this interface has no font big enough to portray those two IF's. billvon 3,112 #19 November 3, 2010 >It will be for it, before she is against it See? That's not even English, but it's amusing. It's stuff like that that will make the campaign fun. I can just see all the right wingers every Monday morning: "Oh shit - she said WHAT? How the hell do we defend that? Well, maybe the 'baffle em with bullshit' angle will work again." Both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will have a very easy job over the next two years if this comes to pass. More people will watch Comedy Central, more advertisers will make money, they'll sell more products for their clients, the economy will improve - all due to the entertainment provided by Palin. I can't imagine O'Donnell as a VP candidate though. That's too much to hope for. "I would just like to reiterate - we are not witches."
