Illegal Immigrant Facing Felony Self-Deports Himself

:S

The editor who composed that headline should self-fire himself for un-grammatically using bad grammar.

LOL, see how liberals argue thread....B|

I wasn't arguing anything. A conservative Republican English teacher, for example, would have had the same reaction.

But they wouldn't have bothered pointing it out! (superiority complex?)

And the guy who was defending his property is now a convicted felon for protecting his property! How is it that this has become what "freedom" is? Its just sick!

Can't use deadly force to protect property. Period.

That isn't a new law or a new interpretation of one.

From someone and if your here illegally, you can just self deport yourself and face no legal action. Of course you know the guy is already back in the U.S. with a new name and probably a stolen SSN. >:(

This is a really good case I have seen for a DNA database if there ever was one.>:(

Keep track of the criminals... you find them back here illegaly. and you BURY them for a lot of years in a federal prison in solitary confinement. I would rather house scumbags like this for long terms than low level drug users that are clogging the current prison system.

I agree.

The guy never should have been released in the first place. He was illegally here. They should have kept him locked up at least for the immigration issues.

In most states, such as CO where this occurred. But I think under Texas law you can use deadly force to protect property. Perhaps others will weigh in on this.

This is very unusual, in my experience. In the first place, his illegal immigrant status should have acted as an automatic detainer to keep him in custody. Second, the fact that he was an illegal made him a high risk of flight (i.e., bail-jumping), so he should have had a very high bail set. It does seem that the ball was dropped here.

I'd also be in favor of amending federal law so that a person facing criminal charges in the country cannot be deported out of the country without express judicial approval.
