roostnureye 2 #1 November 1, 2010 i am a govt employee for the port authority, i just want to let you know the TSA has stooped to a new low. i had to have a 10yr fbi background check before being employed. so today i am going from airside(restricted area) to the terminal(sterile area not secure) so when i come throught the door a TSA agent was on the other side. made me empty my pockets then performed a very intrusive search, putting his hand inside of my shirt and inside of my pants, touching my genetials, then on to the inside of my legs once again touching my genetials, after i told them i believed they were violating my rights. my job entails me coming and going from secure to non secure areas all day long, am i just suppose to accept someone touching me innapropriatly all day every day i have to come to work??? btw i carry a knife and other "tools" when i work, this was of no concern. i can bypass any security checkpoint with my credentials, so i dont have to hold up normal passengers, or alarm them because of tools i carry. i just dont know how far the TSA is willing to go when it comes to violating your morals and personal rights. im sure that this form of search will be reaching the public in the near future, so be aware nothing is sacred anymore.Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE

skipbelt 0 #3 November 1, 2010 all bureaucracies evolve this way . TSA should have the goal of identifying terrorists . not treating all americans as potential terrorists . as for the innapropriate touching , former priest ?
roostnureye 2 #4 November 1, 2010 does it matter? i am a male and had a male search me, i would have preffered a female but that didnt matter to them. nor did the fact that i refused them touching my junk. they do what they want and dont care about your right or liberties. my supervisors were notified and told me in the future to refuse and have them contact my manager. total disrespect to the american people. if i am legally allowed to carry a weapon in a secure area whay should i be subject to this? if they arent looking for weapons why should they violate me in this manner? better yet would you like to have your genetials checked multiple times throughout your day at work? i think not!Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE

I think that would depend highly on the job... a porn start might not have an issue with their genitials being "examined" throughout the day... I will however add that even they probably wouldn't enjoy it in this context... Alas, the prospect of comercial flying just keeps getting worse and worse... Call them and report an assault. Be willing to stay there as long as it takes. 3) The ACLU lives for this stuff. Give them a call.

Andy9o8 2 #21 November 2, 2010 You don't think the Port Authority needs to work closely and maintain harmonious relations with the TSA? Of course it does. The TSA can be a friend to the PA or it can be an enemy. Rule #1: Don't embarrass your boss. Rule #2: Don't embarrass your boss's friends. Rule #3: Don't embarrass your boss's enemies. I support the OP's complaint, but he risks putting himself in a pickle for lack of discretion. The road to Hades is lined with good intentions.

This is part of their new pat-down procedure. They're setting people up to finally 'accept' their virtual strip-search machines when they put them in all over the country. Those are still 'optional' so you can either walk through their microwave oven or get an extremely invasive pat-down with a side of junk grabbing. If they don't have back-scatter you don't have a choice except not to fly. Or buy your own plane... I did.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
