rushmc 23 #1 October 29, 2010 (and this applies to all political parties) Do I think the coming election is a referendum of Obama or Democrat policy and stands? To keep it simple, yes. But I really think it is much more than that. This election is about the ruling elitist class of politicians in Washington today. It just happens that this President is the extreme of what his party sees as important, and that party having virtual unlimited power this cycle. And so, armed with the “you don’t know what is good for you” attitude toward the people, they rammed through an agenda that gives them more power over what people can or can not choose to do for themselves. And they did this with the people telling them STOP! We do not want this. That is what sets up this Tuesday BUT, I do not feel this is unique to the Democrat party. Had the Republicans had the same opportunity they would do the same only with different agenda items. It would be tougher for them because they do not have the media licking their balls like the Democrats do but, non the less they would try to do the same as the Dems only with different issues My point? It is our fault We elect them and then forget about it until close to the next election cycle. By doing this we can only blame ourselves. We let ourselves be distracted by the vitriol and minutiae. I do not think this happens by accident. What Do We Need to Do? Well, what ever your beliefs and leanings, let your Representatives know. Daily, weekly or monthly at the very least. Send these bastards your thoughts! The loudest clearest voices will have an effect on these idiots and maybe, just maybe, this country can start moving back to a smaller government that is governed by the people while being guided by our Constitution. Go vote Tuesday if you have not yet done so. Voting is however, just the beginning of where our power lies. Keep them in line after we send them there. Let them know we are paying attention to what is important. And what is important is NOT what they are talking about most of the time. I can only hope"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
