QuoteI'm sick of reading about RWCs and Bleeding heart Libs. Do you Americans realise that the rest of the world doesn't fall into either catogory. Obama is no more a Maxist than Regan was a Nazi. Why is it that the US is so bi-parthide? so much hatred from one side to the other, so simplistic in outlook and world view. Truely, its pathetic.
All elected "officials", wheather Democrat or Republican, have one thing in common. They're all politicians. They need each other. There is really no difference in the way they do things. Sucking up money from the special intrests so they can keep their cushy jobs is their number 1 priority. If something good for the country or their constituancy, so much the better but it was probably an accident. Just like a small town lawyer will starve to death if he's the only lawyer in town. But if there are 2 lawyers, they will both get rich. They need each other. They're like the "wrasslers" on TV. They yell and scream and put on a good show. When that act is over, they go out to dinner togerther and compare the size of their "war chests."

Agreed, with one exception: in the US Congress, for about the past 20-25 years, the partisan vitriol is so bitter and polarizing that Members of one party very rarely socialize
with Members of the other party any more.

I know that you are more wonderful and clever and evolved than the rest of us. And, we recognize that all of Europe is a Utopia of peace and happiness and zero conflict of any kind. If only we could follow your example and become the futuristic beings we all have the potential to be.
Please tell us all the path to enlightenment.
Your humble student,
me
Edit: I agree, election time in the US, much like almost every other country, is a total pile a nonsense. But, that's how it works. As for Speaker's Corner - yep, it's become bogged down with partisan hacks that don't have any listening skills, just expertise at emotional rants. Dammit.

I would, if only you could get me a bipartisan commission to verify if:
A) They are crackERS eaters
B) If so, what kind, green, red, blue?
C) Standard of production of said crackERS
D) If the company that produces utilizes clean and renewable energy in the production of their crackERS.
E) Last but not least, if employees in the company are fully compliant with diversity quotas, and compliant with affirmative action.

Quote[Reply]. But its getting very boring. It used to be much more interesting when it wasn't just about internal US politics which is quite frankly uninteresting in general. I've not really posted much in the last couple of weeks as theres nothing interesting being posted just the same old crap.
Here's a tip for how this can be improved:
"But I think its getting very boring. It found it much more interesting when it wasn't just about internal US politics which, quite frankly, is uninteresting to me in general. I made these very slight changes because I don't like it when some European again tells me what is interesting. I don't need you to tell me what is boring or uninteresting. I'm perfectly capable of making up my own mind.
Next time try giving us your opinion, but frame it as your opinion. Your subjective interpretation is not objective truth. These things are not uninteresting - as proven by the domination of the topics on this board! YOU find it uninteresting. You'd be amazed where you can get with people when objective is objective and subjective is subjective.
Your post is BS. Everybody here is showing his own opinion. Just like you.
Skyrad gave his opinion. In public and on an international platform of DZ. And not only to some which you call "us". Who is "us"?
There is halftime in the US. It seems, there's always "some"-time in the US. Before, during, after elections, nearly same posters permanently keep their bashing campaigns, pulling thier straw out of thier heads and trying to hit the other party as much as possible with it.
Boring. W/o election times, they just dig out their vets and dream about good ol' times (Vietnam, WWII; surely after next decade, it will be the Iraq war, too).
There still is another point: US posters are not that interested about what's going on outside their borders (relax, not you, Mr. Rich). Some do not know much about what's going on in the rest of the world, which is (quelle surprise!) larger than expected.
(American) English for most is the only communication contingency, so they stay amongst each other, as they do not understand other languages. Understandable, somehow.
Here's my tip to you, in order to improve something in *your* side: Try to think big. Hard job, I know.
Or are you still living in the past, too?

(My personal opinion is, you do not really sound like a person dealing with jurisprudence.)

But I don't understand what you are saying? America should just be happy with the way things are going and just not talk about things? There are issues in our country and things need to be addressed naturally, people are going to have opposing viewpoints on these issues. So it's an unavoidable consequence.![]()
OK, I didn't explain my point very well. Its not so much the subjects as the way they're discussed (or not as the case usually is). Its the narrow mindedness that is so frustrating. I can't decide if its intellectual lazyness or shear stupidity that makes people lump others who happen to disagree on what they believe into a hate group (Republican or Democrat). Debate the subjects by all means but posting nonsense just to inflame the opposing political belief just gets boring (yes that is my opinion as a non american)

Why is that? Its crazy, I have friends with kinds of political opinion and beliefs but it doesn't preclude them from my social circle. In fact knowing people with different views makes for a richer life.

I can only but agree with Jamile here. There is never a real debate about issues any more. The usual suspects spend all their time insulting, belittling, attacking, and generally embarrasing themselves. We have the crude and insessant obsession with anal sex, as in "Butt Hurt", bestiality as in "Goat Fuck" and simple childish attempts at trying to sound clever, but being completely assinine. Consider "rePUBICans", "conservitards", "Obuma", and all the other extremely childish and infantile insults.
There was a time when real debate took place, but as has been said, those posters have lost interest. Now we have these ridiculess pissing contests of "You said, I said", "Show me where" etc. etc.
I used to enjoy the banter here. Alas.... no more.
Max, where are you when this forum needs you????

I totally agree that it is asinine that people cannot think for themselves and they pretty much base their ideals on what their political party believes. Some would first die rather than agree with something a liberal has said or vise versa.
I think it is quite sad.
