You are allowed to. There are consequences. You can also pick your teeth openly, spit on the sidewalk in front of someone, belch out loud, smack someone on the ass.

These are behaviors that require context for most people. So is calling someone a nigger.

Can't stand it that someone has a right that you don't? Well, did it ever occur to you that you have "rights" (or privileges) others might not?

Wendy P.

I agree with you. People need to be held accountable for their words and actions. People should use some discretionand not just flagrantly do or say things. I think, this whole thing boils down to respect for your fellow man and treating others the way we want to be treated. Calling someone a derogatory name just because one has some ammendment to back him up, could, like you said, find his teeth rolling down the street like Chiclets.

Chuck

I think the point is being missed. To fix a problem you have to first identify it. It was the ideology of the muslim extremeists that caused 9/11.

To not be able to state that Muslim extremists caused the problem is burying your head in the sand. That Muslim extremists did this may cause problem for the moderate Muslims must be recognized.

I know that is what Juan was saying. To not recognize these problems due to political correctness is asinine. This is where the left is failing.

The most perfect example of PC run amok we have seen. And the cherry on top is it happened to a lib

By the way, I have a lot of respect for him even though there is little I agree with him about. Why? Cause he is honest

If I don't get worried if I see Muslims on an airplane, does that mean I'm dishonest?

Nope

And you should not get fired for saying so

What happened to an employer's right to hire or fire as they see fit?

Don't cry for Williams, he just got a $2million contract from Fox.

I'm a longtime NPR listener who is deeply disappointed with Williams' ranting on FOX since he was fired. Okay, the guy got fired and feels pissed off. Been there, done that. But to go on a show with Bill O'Reilly and see which of them can shout the loudest, over each other, about how it's time to kill NPR is disgraceful on his part.

Yeah, I listen to NPR. I don't watch FOX, because I think FOX is a lying piece of shit network. So I excercise my FREE CHOICE to not watch it. I don't go around ranting and raving about banning FOX from the air waves. That's the difference between NPR and FOX. NPR has a different editorial opinion. FOX wants to shoot anyone who disagrees with them in the head. Hell, they openly talk about "poisoning Nacy Pelosi". This kind of talk is threatening to our basic American freedoms. And now Juan Williams is wallowing in their FOX Party Line. Well, if they were paying me $2 million a year, maybe I'd be their bitch too, but it's shameful.

Based on observation. BTW, I will continue to support NPR because I thing they present a voice that should be heard even if I don't agree with that voice all the time. But, that's my money that I spend how I choose.

No need to wonder why.

Last week, a Hawaii man was arrested and accused of making false statements to the FBI about his plans to attend terrorist training in Pakistan.

But, so long ago... last week.

Something more current... this week.

Quote

WASHINGTON – A Pakistani-born Virginia man was arrested Wednesday and accused of casing Washington-area subway stations in what he thought was an al-Qaida plot to bomb and kill commuters.

The bombing plot was a ruse conducted over the past six months, the FBI said, but 34-year-old Farooque Ahmed readily handed over video of northern Virginia subway stations, suggested using rolling suitcases rather than backpacks to kill as many people as possible and offered to donate money to al-Qaida's cause overseas.

So, looking around in a subway and seeing a suitcase could be something to worry about.
Who takes a suitcase on the subway? A suitcase that
might be heavy enough to want to roll?

Someone with this goal -

with the goal of killing as many Metro riders as possible through simultaneous bomb attacks."

An increase.

Quote

Ahmed's arrest comes as the U.S. has been struggling with an uptick in Americans plotting terrorist attacks in the past 18 months.

wanted to kill as many military personnel as possible and suggested an additional attack on a Crystal City subway station.

Simply put, Juan spoke the truth, and the PC crowd are in an uproar. Well FUCK the PC crowd, and FUCK NPR. Until these motherfucking muslim sympathizers stop planning and carrying out these plots on US soil, I'm going to view them with distrust.

AWESOME. Call me a bigot too. Is it just me or does everyone trying to blow up a subway, building, or airplane have a name that looks like someone drunk-typed the words kaleidoscope calendar.

You know, this will probably catch me my :D banning. But so far you've done more to lower the level of discussion in SC than anyone else I can remember. And the competition was pretty stiff, too. Just stirring shit stinks it up for everyone.

You're not posting what you believe, you're posting shit to stir shit.

I think the competition is pretty well in front of Skip-B. Mockery (even the low grade muslim name comment [:/]) doesn't hold a candle to angry partsian unlistening hack. With that in mind, he doesn't even make the top 50%-ile. Do you want me to list 5 angry unlistening hacks on the left, and 3 religious fanatics on the right right here that completely outclass skippy in the no-value added department? DO YOU? ah HA - I didn't think so.

But it sounds like a competition is in line. I mainly compete on the mockery and whimsy front on Fridays. But I'll give it a crack.

It takes all kinds; I'm more bothered by the deliberate shit-stirring than the "true believers" who become angry partisan unlistening hacks (good description). Those exist on both sides, regardless of religion -- it's just easier to detect nuances of meaning and shifting among people you agree with than among people you disagree violently with.

So it takes a battleship turning around to think that someone who disagrees with you is changing their opinion, and just a course change to think that someone who agrees with you is. This is all the rhetorical you, of course :)
