SkyDekker 1,465 #1 October 19, 2010 The more I read and think about this case, the more questions I have. How could this man have been such a rising star in the military? Were there really no signs? How could his wife really not have known or suspected anything? I guess, for me, the biggest shocker is finding out that somebody in such a position, could be that evil. It brings it closer to home, it could be around my social circles now. When I tend to think of evil like this, I imagine deranged, socially inept perpetrators. Col. Russell Williams was the commander of Canada's largest air base when he was arrested for two murders. Turnes out that murder may have been one of his more "sane" crimes. I find the following article from one of the Canadian national newspapers extremely disturbing, but it outlines what a sick fuck this guy is: http://www.nationalpost.com/news/Russell+Williams+pleads+guilty+colonel+stripped+military+rank/3688615/story.html I hope his days on earth are long and extremely painful. aphid 0 #2 October 19, 2010 I look forward to a formal assessment of his mind. If he is a sociopath, I suppose he could be able to disguise his second life. No question, the more I see coming from his sentencing hearing, he truly is a disgusting f**k. John
Guest #3 October 19, 2010 I'm glad there's no death sentence available - this way, he can be studied. He may yet be of use. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

CanuckInUSA 0 #5 November 23, 2010 This guy is a pretty twisted individual leading a double life. On one hand he was this outstanding military leader and on the other hand he was one sick mind murdering those two young women (not to mention the other property crimes he committed against more young women). From what I know about his crimes, it sounded like he was getting an adrenaline high trying to see how far he could push things without getting caught. But he did NOT cover all of his bases, and the tire tracks left at one of the murder scenes was traced back to him. Once the police accessed his personal computer, it was game, set and match. Why would you create such meticulous records on your computer of your crime sprees? It is a puzzling case. There is nothing good to say about Russell Williams, except that he won't be murdering any more people. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
Kennedy 0 #6 November 24, 2010 Unfortunately, there isn't a lot to learn from him. His pattern fits almost perfectly to the model serial sexual predator. He's highly organized, started with fantasizing, then peeping, then B+E, then theft, then assault, then murder. The trophies are to relive the rush, the moment when he has made everything perfect. He's highly intelligent and motivated. He gathered all the evidence to be used against him when he eventually was caught. And he would never, ever have stopped without death or incarceration. The strange thing about him (compared to other predators) is that he didn't offer a method of choosing his target, and more importantly, his wide variety of victims. It seems that he never focused, never had a repeating fantasy. His target seems to have been every female is sight. I don't think they'll really get much out of him that they don't already know from studying similar headcases. I'm more interested in what is going on with him that others have, that the rest of us don't. I'm talking things like brain physiology, chemistry, and genetics. I wonder if there are things that they have that we don't, or vice versa.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

In as much as it is said that courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to overcome fear; I am quite sure that a sizeable middle-ground group of people exist that overcome some dark nature with nurture. This means he wasn't crazy - just a sociopath. He was certainly able to use his skills and intellect to be an admirable character. Perhaps this was always in him and he was able to muffle it until he could muffle it no more. QuoteWhy would you create such meticulous records on your computer of your crime sprees? I'd surmise that it is to relive it. He's also a highly organized guy and a planner. Not only can he relive it with the records but he can analyze them - do after action reviews - to help improve his stalking. I'd think that, as Kennedy wrote, there is very little puzzling about him to a forensic psychiatrist. My wife is hotter than your wife.
