For Those Near, the Miserable Hum of Clean Energy

And the costruction of these things are about to come to a halt as the tax incentives (a gov chosen winner) are about to end (at least on the scale they have been on for the last few years.

Wow.. I wonder if they cause cancer to the people downwind of those too. I bet they do not destroy the land values quite as much as the people living in the areas where your coal is coming from. I hear the streams in those areas... turn into a toxic soup. I guess sacrificing a few of your fellow Americans so your company can make millions of dollars for their investors and create a few jobs is a good trade off.:S:S

So some people like them and others don't. In the case of this particular island, apparently a majority do like them.

Do you think everyone likes having a coal power plant close by? Oil refinery? Train tracks? Rushing waterfall, for that matter?

Coal plant construction is about to come to a halt? The taxpayer-funded subsidies are ending? Probably the best thing that could happen for alternative energies, actually.

Sorry but the hilarity of you, a native born speaker of English, correcting the spelling of someone who probably uses English as a third or fourth language, when you fight tooth and nail daily to impress us with your spelling prowess, was just far too funny to pass up. Well done on the jocularity.:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

Nobody in the area could believe it. They were so loud,’’ said Art Lindgren who lives near the Maine wind turbines.

More than three dozen families in DeKalb County, Ill., have filed a lawsuit to have removed 100 turbines near them. A judge has refused to dismiss the case. The issue has become international: In France, an appeals court ordered eight wind turbines to shut down between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. so neighbors could sleep.
