CanuckInUSA 0 #76 September 16, 2010 As an individual you can choose to take on debt or live within your means. Try doing that with governments. When was the last time a government lived within their means? Sure once in every blue moon someone might run a surplus for a year or two, but it never lasts. Federal, Provincial/State and municipal governments are always looking for new ways to spend the tax payer's money and the Central Bankers are always there to invent money out of thin air for these drunken governments. I am picking on the Donkeys and the Elephants here, but the same thing exists in other countries. Shit up here in Canuckistan we have the "they spend like a drunk Liberal" CONServatives, we have the "we need to spend money, no wait you are spending too much money, no wait we need to spend more money, and while I am here at the troughs I will fill my pockets with tax payers money since I am entitled to my entitlements" LIEberals and then of course there is the "we should always spend spend spend oh and all businesses must be driven from the country" NDP. They all suck. Some (specifically the LIEberals) just suck more than others. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

It's not impossible but society/voters as a whole need to start asking politicians "How are we going to pay for this?" If not, they'll loan us more and more. They can't really forclose or demand payment on a government so it's pretty much a mutual dependence relationship as they're discovering with Greece. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
Kennedy 0 #78 September 16, 2010 Actually he's talking sense. The federal reserve is neither federal, nor does it have any reserves. They simply create money out of thin air. Anytime a government does that, it eventually comes down to its true value: zero.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
billvon 3,111 #79 September 16, 2010 >You realize people who are trying to get into the country illegally don't generally >go to the local police when their coyotes screw with them, right? Agreed. Neither do Chicago drug dealers or Detroit pimps. Indeed, most criminals tend to avoid the local police as a rule. >Do you really think El Paso, which shares part of its border with Ciudad Juarez, >is as safe as you make it? I am certainly no expert on El Paso; I've been there a grand total of about three times. However, the FBI would seem to be a pretty authoritative source when it comes to evaluating crime rates. >but you don't rub shoulders with "Murder City" without some spilling over. From the available data, it looks like you can indeed do that - sensationalist press notwithstanding.. >anyone with the inclination can find stories of cross-border skirmishes, banditos, >rustlers, famous/infamous lawmen of dubious legality, and all kinds of colorful >characters. Of course. Just as anyone can find stories about how (formerly) legal gun owners used their weapons to rob, rape and murder people. Such stories would paint a picture of gun owners as potential criminals, a source of potential crime to be stopped before it becomes an epidemic. But I suspect you would object to such a picture; you might claim that although the stories were accurate, the picture they painted was not. >why was Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu telling reporters in June 2010 that >"violence against law enforcement officers and U.S. citizens has increased in >the past four months, further underscoring the need to keep the 80 miles of >border land off-limits to Americans?" I don't know. Perhaps for the same reason that Jan Brewer claimed that "Our law enforcement agencies have found bodies in the desert either buried or just lying out there that have been beheaded." (which wasn't true.) Perhaps in both cases it advances their agendas. Perhaps in both cases they stand to reap financial rewards in the form of more spending on law enforcement. Or perhaps they both just watch FOX News; it certainly doesn't seem to be supported by reality. Violent crime in Pinal County dropped from 290 incidents in 2007 to 198 incidents in 2008 (can't find anything more recent.) >Right and left just tell people to be afraid of different things. Both want more >power. Agreed there.
skipbelt 0 #80 September 16, 2010 Quote Quote The "evil illegal immigrants are destroying the US" is a right wing myth, promulgated by people who use fear as a means of control. The Federal Reserve are the ones who are destroying the USA with their ability to create money out of thin air and turn around and loan it out at interest. We the common people are nothing but slaves to the elitist Central Banking cartel. There would not be a problem with illegals if there wasn't the need for cheap slave labor. Plus it does not matter if a Donkey or an Elephant lives in the White House, they are the same. The President of the USA is nothing more than a puppet to their Central Banking masters. The only difference between a Donkey and an Elephant, is if someone breaks into a conservative's house they will probably be shot. If someone breaks into a Liberals house, they will be greeted with hugs, pillow fights and teddy bears. Have you hugged a thug yet today? cheap slave labor ? You are blind to the realities that he is nothing more than a puppet. His "YES WE CAN" was nothing more than pure bullshit. There is little difference between Obama and GWB. Shit we already know they are distant cousins. But maybe you love Obama so much because you too have admitted you are part of the Obama/GWB clan. It must make your family reunions interesting as you kiss Obama's ass all the while spew garbage towards his cousin, your cousin GWB. The difference between us is that I know both Obama and GWB suck ass. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. all that conspiracy anger up ther ein CanuckistanOf course they are both my distant 8th and 10th cousins.. so is Clinton 6th... and Queen Liz... yup also a 9th cousin. ROFLMAO ... only in the eyes of a partisan Liberal can I say "they all suck ass, including the Republicans" and yet still be labeled as "one of them". You know if there was a Libertarian candidate that I liked and that I could vote for, maybe just maybe I would be "one of them". But seeing as I don't have a candidate I can support, my favorite candidate still remains "None of the above ... they all suck". back on topic ... If someone breaks into a Conservative's house, chances are they will be shot. If someone breaks into a Liberal's house, they will be showered with hugs, cupcakes, candy canes and teddy bears. Also, since this is an illegal immigration oriented thread, there is two reasons why Donkeys and Elephants ignore the illegals. One reason is for some bizarre reason they both think they can win votes by catering to the special interest illegal aliens. But more importantly they both want to exploit the illegal alien for cheap labor. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
