It's wrong to tell folks of either persuasion that their feelings are wrong. Feelings are feelings.
Whether it's people telling folks that they shouldn't
- infer an in-your-face intention from the mosque building in Manhattan,
- infer racism from some reactions to affirmative actions
- infer homophobia from a particularly rabid anti-gay-marriage diatribe
feelings are what they are. But, ya know -- we don't always act on those feelings, and that's also OK. We don't even always tell people our feelings (if we did, there'd be a lot more bannings for PAs in SC 
). And that's also OK.
Because sometimes our first feeling turns out to be disproportionate, or our attitudes change over time.
