New "Stimulus" package to make the USA #1 in infrastructure.

Recommended Posts

What a brilliant new idea that no one has ever thought of or tried in the past two years.

Obama is a fucking tool!!!

He also needs some new material for his stand-up comedy routine.... :S What a joke.

He may also be the greatest verbal divider between the parties of all time. Douche!

The goals of the infrastructure plan include: rebuilding 150,000 miles of roads; constructing and maintaining 4,000 miles of railways, enough to go coast-to-coast; and rehabilitating or reconstructing 150 miles of airport runways, while also installing a new air navigation system designed to reduce travel times and delays.

YEAH!!! We are going to have the best fucking infrastructure in the WORLD!!!!! I can't wait!

A lot of the stimupork bill was not infrastructure, but ongoing support (teacher salaries, for one).

Given how neglected infrastructure as been for some time, it's a far better reason to take on red ink than ongoing expenses which should be matched appropriately to income.

but....any proposal made in Sept in a critical election season has to be viewed with great suspicion.

Normally it takes a federal construction projects an average of 4.4 years to complete a NEPA review. Throw in the Clean Water Act’s section 404 requirements, and before a single shovel can hit the earth it usually takes 5.6 years for the average federal project to jump through all the normal environmental hoops. Since environmentalists killed any chance of regulatory reform, the billions in infrastructure spending in this stimulus bill will not be spent till years after the economy has already recovered.

GAO report submitted in February concluded that "The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act)" ("Shovel Ready" stimulus package) did little to help create jobs.
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Shit... we're driving on golden paved roads here in Denver :S.

I never saw shit from the first spending package, and I'm sure we won't have anything worth talking about 4 years from now after another spending package.

'We're going to improve the roads, bridges, railways, airports,... bla bla bla, you don't want more delays at airports do you?' -Obama

'No, no.. we don't want more delays at airports. You are a genesis Obama. We worship you, keep up the great work.' - Morons
