It is the job of the United Nations' human rights commissioner to review what Governments are doing globally to uphold human rights. So as to your first question 'do they really think they have ther right?' the answer is yes, they not only have the right but were appointed to the position specifily to monitor numan rights breaches. That the US Governmant sees this as a potential breach of human rights and is using its challenge as an example of how it is protecting human rights is why the UN are looking at this in the first place.

The UN is a fucking joke. Double that for the human rights "group" they have put together. Anyone that pays any attention to it other than to be sure it does no harm, is a fool

Your assignment, is to go read about the history of the creation of the United Nations from a REAL history book.

What was intended compared to what it has become?

Well, thanks for making my point

But we all know, to liberals, the intent is what counts, not the true actions

if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Man, it's tiresome to read your permanent half-assed comments w/o any background.

Jesus, what a poor *statement of facts*. :|

One need only look at which countries head and are in the HR group

My facts stand on thier own
You have any?

the UN couldn't find any REAL human rights violations in other countries that would probably be considered actual Human rights violations? the UN is not about human rights but political control of those that allow themselves to be controled. the countries with actual human rights violations just tell the UN to fuck off and the UN leaves them alone. Maybe we should do the same.

Maybe we should live up to our professed creed of leading the way on the moral issues of the day, rather than taking comfort in grouping ourselves among the countries that behave reprehensibly.

The US Government included it, the UN didn't ask them to.

Hillary Clinton added it - not the US government, she acted unilaterally on this one.
