Amazon 7 #1 August 27, 2010 I was waiting to see if ANYONE of the rePUBIClown persuasion was going to post anything about this..... guess not huh Well GOLLLLLLLLYYYYY Personally I think more of the Log Cabin types should just come out and do as Ken is now doing, work for gay rights rather than PERPETRATING the usual self loathing attacks on gays to prove to their buddies they can't possibly be one of those homo's , ike the former mayor of Spokane, or Wide Stance Larry Craig. I mean they have used legislation over and over to harm their fellow gays in this country... when they themselves are gay. Does anyone think Ken is still welcome in that BiG WHITE Circus Tent??? Ken Mehlman former RNC Chair Ken Mehlman Gay? Bush-Era GOP By: Michael Stevens Staff Writer Published: Aug 27, 2010 Ken Mehlman gay, and he is the former chairman of the Republican national committee. Ken Mehlman Gay? Bush-era GOP. Ken Mehlman has surprised the GOP by admitting he is gay, and is lobbying for same-sex marriage. Mehlman claims that it has taken him 43 years to get comfortable with being gay. Mehlman was one of the key architects of former President George Bush's election machine. He has disclosed that he is indeed, gay, and is lobbying to legalize same-sex marriage. "It's taken me 43 years to get comfortable with this part of my life," Ken Mehlman, a former chairman of the Republican national committee and the manager of George Bush's 2004 presidential campaign, said in a statement. This revelation makes him the most senior figure in the Republican party to publicly identify himself as gay. As a member of Bush's inner circle, Mehlman would have been party to the agenda of hostility towards gay and lesbian rights. It was designed to draw conservative and religious supporters out to vote. Mehlman claims that Karl Rove, Bush's chief political adviser, worked to place anti-gay initiatives and referendums on election ballots in 2004 and 2006. It's a claim that Karl Rove completely denies. While Ken Mehlman expressed his regret at Republican tactics during his tenure, some gay activists were angry with him. Mike Rogers, who attempted to out Mehlman and a number of other politicians, wrote on his blog that Bush's 2004 election campaign was "the most homophobic national campaign in history. That campaign was run by one of the nation's worst closested individuals, Ken Mehlman." Rogers said he wanted to hear Mehlman apologize for the damage he helped cause. "Ken Mehlman is horribly homophobic and no matter how orchestrated his coming out is, our community should hold him accountable for his past," Rogers said. jclalor 12 #2 August 27, 2010 There is a simple explanation of why so many Republicans are homophobic: they are repressing their own gay tendencies. Their was a study a few years back where a control group of men were ask their views about Gays. They were then shown an assortment of porn with blood pressure cuffs on their penis to measure arousal. Not surprising, the ones expressing the most ant-gay sentiments were the ones that had the most arousal from subjects who described themselves as straight. This study was not surprising to me and now when ever I see someone who is very homophobic, I think back to that study. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8772014

It also seems to work out they try desperately to prove to their buddies that they are not, by beating the shit out of anyone they perceive as gay. When they grow up they join the ranks of those like Ken Mehlman , Larry Craig and a host of others who try so hard to legislate morality. Many of them get a wife to further cover their secret little passions that they partake of while not at home. Sometimes the wives know of this and just accept it as part of being married to someone of importance. I wonder when Limbaugh is going to actually come out and quit torturing woman after woman. AT least Karl Rove has divorced wife number 2 and can now come out as well. That type of relationship is usually very harmful to their families, perhaps someday guys like that will not need the level of subterfuge and they can marry someone they truly love, even if he is the same sex. It would certainly make for a more stable life with less harm to those trapped in the big lie that is their life.
lawrocket 3 #7 August 27, 2010 It seems as though there are more gay Republicans than gay Democrats. It seems as though the stereotype about the lack of inclusivity of the GOP is damaged day by day. It's too bad that there are so many out there who focus on people's race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, etc. This focus on these people is often seen at its greatest when people point out - HA! HE'S GAY! HA HA HA! You think it's funny and entertaining that Ken Mehlman is gay? You like the thought of using a person's sexual orientation against him, her or the people with which the gay or transgendered person is or has been affiliated? Thank you for pointing out exactly how challenged the pursuit of equality is. There is a greater-than-significant portion of the right wing that does not want to see it. There is a greater-than-significant portion of the left wing that would prefer to be clique-like bullies that point and llaugh when their enemy is found to have those that they think are more like them. Neither the left nor the right view anybody as a person. The right at least owns up to it. The left lie about it. My wife is hotter than your wife. He was part of the group that has done all it can to do every thing it can do damage others.. and then these same bullies that BECAUSE they are gay and trying to hide their proclivities have in the past and continue to harm others. The left my dear is NOT the group who have demonized gay people for political gain across this county. Perhaps Americans need to butt the fuck out of peoples personal lives. Now it appears that Mehlman is trying to become an activist for gays... bully for him... too bad he could not have done that BEFORE he harmed so many. Although antidotal, I always noticed when I was younger, if I was in a group of several guys, around 6-10, when ever the subject of gays came up, there was always 1 or 2 that just had to let loose with a tirade of anti gay shit. These guys just seemed to way over react with talk about kicking their ass and they should all be killed and this and that. Many of these same guys I would later find were Gay. billvon 3,107 #12 August 27, 2010 > It seems as though the stereotype about the lack of inclusivity of the >GOP is damaged day by day. ?? If you have to quit your job in the GOP because you're gay, and then later apologize for betraying other gays, that actually reinforces that stereotype. >Neither the left nor the right view anybody as a person. The right at least >owns up to it. You mean the right owns up to not treating anyone as a person? I don't see that they do that (in general) nor do I see them owning up to doing that. And of course calling all republicans gay is completely going to help your cause or world unification.

Freankly my dear I don't give a fuck, but if you are one of the rePUBIClowns ( please notice the PUBIC and CLOWN in there) I think perhaps an examination of the tissue surrounding their collective heads is severly in order, that may then lead to a rapid extraction of those collective craniums from that rather dark place they are so firmly embeded in. Perhaps if they were able to return to REPUBLICAN ideals, return to a centrist world view and actually try to govern for the people from a position of sanity, and true fiscal responsibility, rather than being the devisive and hateful party of NO, they MIGHT be able to get some respect from people other than their true believer fellow travellers. I like how telling someone they need to post like an adult is a PA, yet repeated calling people repubiclowns, even emphasizing the words in the bastardization of the term, is not a PA because it's simply political in nature. one mod I exchanged PMs with said he tried to determine if the post was made with malice when he considered if something was a PA or not. I've seen much malice on this board. And oddly enough, most of it is centered around dancing around these PA rules.-- Rob
