loumeinhart 0 #1 August 24, 2010 This story on cnn about a guy from Massachusetts being held in N Korea. This is a quote from the article: QuoteState Department secretly sent a team to visit Gomes earlier this month but was not able to get him released. So is this like an At-eam type thing? Are they armed? Military guys? Politicians? Redcross? I understand Pres Clinton showing up last year, but what would guarantee a "secret" team's safety? wolfriverjoe 1,523 #2 August 24, 2010 The team would be a bunch of diplomats and bureacrats (sp?) to try and negotiate the release. The "secret" part is that nobody but the two governments involved knew about it to prevent any media coverage (and resulting pronouncements from misguided idiots) that would quite probably destroy any chances for success. They would be a diplomatic mission from the US, just like Clinton was. They would be safe, as long as they didn't do anything stupid, like break the laws there or try to spy."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." That guy voluntarily and against local laws crossed the North Korean border. What are *you* doing with aliens like that crossing your borders? How do you intend to change N. I think none of this would be an issue if North Korea did that. you were trying to draw a parallel?-- Rob

Then *we* would confer citizenship upon any of their children who are born here. Wait! he's from Massachusetts? ....We'd probably just turn him over to Jimmy Carter.
