Andy9o8 2 #30 July 31, 2010 Rocket launches into space are more easily done closer to the equator due to the higher boost of speed derived from the planet's rotational speed at those latitudes. That's one reason why the French have a launch facility in Guyana, for example. Now, Gaza's latitude is almost as far south as Florida's.
