Many Israelis are suspicious of Obama because he seem to believe that he can please the Arab world by "sacrificing" the US' relationship with Israel. Doesn't matter if you agree with what he's doing (I think he doesn't understand the middle eastern mentality), but it is a valid reason for concern in Israel. The thing Obama actually said is a guess about what some of the issue, some folks in Israel may have with his name, which, considering how some people in the US have reacted to it, sure doesn't seem all that unreasonable to me.
