chuteless 1 #1 July 8, 2010 The American government has deceived the American public in their claims about the number of dead US soldiers in the Iraq War. It is a fact, that any soldier who was badly wounded in Iraq and sent to the US hospital in Germany, and consequently died at that hospital, was NOT included in the total number of US Dead of that war. The only numbers of dead US soldiers revealed to the public were those who actually died in Iraq.....those who died later at another location were never claimed as U.S. dead. It sure would be interesting to know the " REAL " number of US personnel who gave their lives for Bush and Cheny in Iraq, Isnt it nice to know your government is so dishonest....but of course, you knew that for years now...didnt you. chuteless 1 #3 July 8, 2010 This ionformation was published shortly after the war started, but was quickly swept aside because of the damage it could do to the goverment. It was in one of the NYC papers or a NYC magazine. Sorry but I can't give you the name of it, but it has always been a sore sport with me, and I have never forgotten it. I wonder if it is happening now in the other war you cannot win in Afghanistan.
nanook 1 #4 July 8, 2010 I'm pretty sure something like this can't be hidden. There isn't a clearance to number of troop deaths. There is definitely a different number between deaths on the battlefield and hospital and post-deployment deaths, but that number is not impossible to research on your own. I'm pretty sure that people are "decieved" by reading one death report and not another and a news source calls that lack of detail "deception"._____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
Andy9o8 2 #5 July 8, 2010 QuoteI'm pretty sure something like this can't be hidden. I agree. And I say that as someone who well-recalls how, re: Vietnam, the US Govt cooked "body counts", "lights at the end of the tunnel", "Vietnamization", etc. for the (intended) consumption of the public. I also acknowledge that we were sold a stinky bill of goods re: "Saddam's WMD" in the run-up to Bush Lite's Iraq war. Nonetheless, our press (and other Western nations' press) are probably a bit less free and robust than many people presume they are, but I think still plenty free and robust enough that something like that simply could not sustain for very long. Bill C. - sorry, but without specific, credible (and preferably coroborating) sources, I simply do not believe it.

While I also recall hearing something about this, the truth is that the numbers are sufficiently bad that I don't think it makes that much of a difference what the "official" number is. No, the real cost that is swept out of sight is the large number of disabled, but surviving casualties. As medical care is able to save a much higher portion of the wounded, just looking at the dead misses much of the cost of war.
JohnRich 4 #7 July 8, 2010 News: "Thursday's casualties took the overall number of international troops killed in the Afghan war so far this year to 338. More than 100 NATO soldiers died in June alone..."Source: http://www.monstersandcritics.com/news/southasia/news/article_1569434.php/Eight-Afghan-civilians-two-NATO-soldiers-killed-in-attacks-Roundup So you think it's worse than this already bad situation? How many other soldiers died that aren't in these statistics?
Gawain 0 #8 July 8, 2010 So, you cannot cite a source. Got it. Instead, look up information related to the MEDEVAC resources and the "golden hour". The survival rate is astonishing considering what we are going through over there. I'm living proof. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! SpeedRacer 1 #9 July 13, 2010 I'd say the survival rate of Americans, both military and civilian, are pretty good given our total destruction scheduled before the end of the Bush administration.
