Lucky... 0 #1 July 2, 2010 This sucks, they needed about 155k to get it on the ballot and got about 120k. WOW, I thought they easily had enough, this really sucks but props to the guys who drove this issue. Looks like the DPS contract that they will let expire will be renewed or worse, the DPS will run it on their own. In a way it's better to have the cams, it sucks to constantly brake on the freeway, but it seems as teh cams came the DPS officers patrolled areas that were un-cammed. I haven't had a ticket in years now, so maybe it's better.
rhaig 0 #2 July 2, 2010 I'm assuming this is about radar cameras to photograph speeders? TX had those many years ago (late 80s) but there were a couple of lawsuits and they quit using them. They were in white concrete posts (about 3 feet high and 1 foot across). For years after, I saw the posts on the road still. Some apparently still had the radar guns in them (I never owned a detector) and were effective at slowing people down even without the cameras.-- Rob
