Lucky... 0 #1 June 18, 2010 What a joke, all Princess Kobea has to do is throw his body into an opposing player.
Lucky... 0 #2 June 18, 2010 Here's a rundown I put together, hope it patses ok: CALLED FOULS TRIPS TO FREETHROW LINE PRINCESS BOSTON PRINCESS BOSTON GAME 1 28 26 31 36 LA GAME 2 29 29 41 26 BOS GAME 3 20 27 24 24 LA GAME 4 23 21 23 22 BOS GAME 5 22 23 26 13 BOS GAME 6 17 21 19 10 LA GAME 7 19 25 37 17 LA 158 172 201 148 1) Last 2 games, LA went to the line 56 times to Boston’s 27. 2) LA went to the line more often 5 of the 7 games, with 1 game a tie. 3) More fouls were called on Boston 4 of the 7 games, with 1 game tied. sundevil777 102 #3 June 18, 2010 It was ridiculous. The refs should have been calling fouls every 10 seconds (that might have encouraged them to actually stop fouling). It was a non-stop foul-fest. Instead they choose to "let them play", and call fouls when they feel like it - which is when it benefits the Lakers. I really do hate basketball, I just wanted to see LA lose.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

That's where I am, look at some more data extrapolation: 1) Last 2 games, LA went to the line 56 times to Boston’s 27. 2) Last 3 games were LA 82 times; Boston 40 times. 3) LA went to the line more often 5 of the 7 games, with 1 game a tie. 4) More fouls were called on Boston 4 of the 7 games, with 1 game tied. 5) LA went to line at least 20 times in 6 of 7 games, the 7th was 19 times. Boston went to line at least 20 times in 4 of 7 games. 6) The last 3 games, LA went to the line at least twice as many times as Boston with the exception of game 6, where it was 19 to 10. 7) In the 4 LA wins, they went to the line more often with the exception of game 3 where it was tied. 8) In the 3 Boston wins, Boston went to the line fewer times in all 3 games to a 61 to 90 ratio deficit. This is bizarre as the winning team usually goes to the line more often, as at the end of the game the losing team will foul to get the ball back. I agree with your analysis of game 7, other games were different.
sundevil777 102 #5 June 18, 2010 We don't agree on much......but it really makes me think that the ref that was caught/admitted to influencing games a while back...well, maybe it didn't stop at him. The refs handed it to them. Boston really screwed up in a lot of ways, but damn, the hacking and smacking that went on with no fouls on the Lakers was amazing. On the side of the refs though, there should be at least 2 more of them. One permanently stationed at the end/past the basket to get a decent look at all the shit that goes on down there. The guys in stripes are expected to see things that they just can't see from where they are. I think there is enough money in basketball for them to have a couple more refs and stop it from being so like hockey. They should also be called for palming/double dribbling, and traveling a lot more than they do. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

There is supposed to be a neutral area. This fix is good for the NBA; it sets up a 3rd match with these same teams with pretty much the same players. This officiating reminds me of the Seahawks/Steelers superbowl where they wanted Cowher to get a ring before he retired. There were 3:1 articles posted about how ugly and ridiculous the officiating was. If I were a player I would have to just keep thinking of my bank account and hot ho's. If you really wanted to win it would just kill you to watch the BS go on.

Uh, the conclusion you should be coming to here is that Boston's style of play (ie, more outside shooting, more pick and rolls) leads to fewer fouls committed against their shooters. The Celts went cold in the 4th and lost. This could have been fatigue. At the same time, Kobe finally started hitting shots, and the Lakers finally could make FTs. sundevil777 102 #9 June 18, 2010 I'm not so sure their style of play was so different, at least in terms of the number of times that Boston did go in close to the basket and got assaulted without a whistle blown. It seemed very one-sided, as if the officials do the "let them play" bullshit. That means the officials have to decide how to set their "filter/threshold" differently than normal, and that always winds up not being even, and it just shouldn't happen anyway. It makes it hard to be a fan, but then I admit I haven't been one for a while because of this.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. There is some truth to that, but looking at all 7 games, it was packaged from the start. As for Bos style of play, BOS cuts to hole all the time. Lucky... 0 #11 June 18, 2010 QuoteSince you brought up that superblow game...this is a good one... LOL!!! Yea, awesome. Did you have the same opinion I do about that SB? I read an article where the author took: - Turnovers - Time of possession - Offensive yards and compared it to all 39 previous bowls and that was the first where teh losing team won all three catagories. The Hawks were too good to make it look casual; it was a gift to Cowher for his lifetime achievement to the NFL. Hey, they keep getting more and more suckers to watch, so why change their business model?
sundevil777 102 #12 June 18, 2010 I lived in Seattle for 8 years, really hoped to see them win one, surely can't have much hope for the Mariners to win big. The real suckers are the ones who's lives rise and fall on their team, who doesn't give a shit unless it's to raise ticket prices. Don't forget Art Model and Cleveland, that's when I said who gives a fuck about any given team; I just watch for the drama.
