CanuckInUSA 0 #7 May 26, 2010 Since when is Mexico a race? Heck Mexican is not even a race. It's a nationality. Not only is the race card used too often, it is also oftenly used incorrectly. wmw999 2,589 #10 May 26, 2010 Interesting how people are only talking about the follow-on, and not refuting Quade's original post (i.e. saying that the poem shows a stunning lack of knowledge about employment, welfare, and Medicaid). Ooh -- look -- something shiny! Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. turtlespeed 226 #13 May 26, 2010 A parody (pronounced /ˈpærədiː/; also called send-up or spoof), in contemporary usage, is a work created to mock, comment on, or poke fun at an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target, by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation. In this case - The welfare system with regards to illegals. I thought you were supposed to be smart. So, rather than being called a parody, because, as I've already pointed out, it's not, let's call it a piece of bullshit based on a myth and as I linked to in my first response, propagated by racist web sites. Awesome. I'm glad you still think it's "funny" though.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

wmw999 2,589 #24 May 27, 2010 If it were written in the style of welfare laws, it would be a parody of the laws. As it is, it's a piece of political writing. Either that, or what I'm writing now is wonderful literature, because I say so. Hmmm -- that sounds good maybe I'll stick with wonderful literature Wendy P. No, I haven't admitted it as the truth, which would be the opposite, nor am I prejudiced in favor of illegal immigrants, which would also be the opposite. I am prejudiced against people who think lying to make a political point is funny. You, OTOH, appear to find the lie to be funny because that lie does agree with your prejudices....
