If is wasn't 'something of value', then why was it offered as an incentive? The fact that it was offered (instead of just asking nicely) leads me to believe that the people offering it certainly believed it had great value. So, to sum up, every time somebody offers you a job, your consider that an attempt at bribery. Good to know. Also, I find it amusing that we're still ignoring the fact that Saint Ronnie and W did the exact same fucking thing. Here's a clipping for the President Reagan part...doesn't say he was offered a specific job...in fact, Hayakawa stated no one at the White House contacted him. http://twitpic.com/1ruq64 http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1454&dat=19811126&id=ibcsAAAAIBAJ&sjid=HhQEAAAAIBAJ&pg=5060,5317656 I honestly don't remember which job President Bush offered to whom? I'm still waiting for someone to remind me which position President Bush offered to whom, because I really don't remember, and my google searches are either too obscure or...well, someone fill me in here, since I've already shown the vast difference in what President Reagan "supposedly" did....So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! TankBuster 0 #28 June 1, 2010 Yeah, I was curious what they were talking about myself. A BDIF with no supporting facts. Here's an interesting sidenote to the preceding story of how Obama got Alice Palmer kicked off the ballot for Illinois state senator. That came about because she decided to run for Mel Reynolds's US Congressional seat. Mel, if you remember was sent to the Federal pen for a whole slew of problems, including sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. Alice decided to run for that seat and endorsed her freind, a young, up and coming community organizer named Barack Obama to fill her vacancy in the Illinois senate. Here's where the story gets a bit more shady. She lost dismally in her bid for Reynold's seat, and decided she wanted to get her old job back. As a thank you for endorsing him, Obama used the petition rules to get her kicked off the ballot. Isn't that a friend we'd all like to have? The forecast is mostly sunny with occasional beer. I agree. exactly my point. also, anyone who gets their news from only one source only and considers themselves informed is sadly mistaken. Whether that source is fox, msnbc, abc, cnn, AP, BBC, or any other news organization.-- Rob
