regulator 0 #2 May 25, 2010 I must be confused...I though they were going to put in a 2 ton metal device that goes over the well head and capped it off...apparently that didn't work and they removed it? I thought they left it on the well and were trying to plug the leaks with that thing still on the well.
RonD1120 62 #3 May 25, 2010 Has the oil showed up at FWB or Destin yet?Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

1969912 0 #5 May 26, 2010 Thanks! That looks like a view of the bent over riser at the top of the valve stack on top of the BOP. The leaks there have become much worse over the last few days. From erosion I guess. Here is a live feed from ROV's at the open end of the riser where they are capturing some of the oil. Lots of ROV activity in the last hour or so, so sometimes they are surrounded by silt stirred up from the bottom. The yellow pipe that the oil cloud is coming from is 21" riser that has been broken off. Inside the 21" riser is drill pipe. There is a black tube stuck into the broken end of the riser (and drill pipe?) that is the tube being used to capture some of the oil. The black tubing is ~3", with insulation and gas/dispersant lines attached. http://www.bp.com/liveassets/bp_internet/globalbp/globalbp_uk_english/homepage/STAGING/local_assets/bp_homepage/html/rov_stream.html "Once we got to the point where twenty/something's needed a place on the corner that changed the oil in their cars we were doomed . . ." -NickDG
Belgian_Draft 0 #6 May 26, 2010 Wow! That thing is spewing almost as much oil as my old Harley Sportster did.HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
