billvon 3,133 #1 May 24, 2010 It's amazing how much some people seem to hate the US, and specifically white Americans, here on Speaker's corner. A recent post exemplified this. The poster used the term "Kill the Gringos" not once, but THREE times, to emphasize its importance to him. He called for "communist subversion in the Western hemisphere" and talked about both Marx and Castro in depth. He also mentions the ultimate goal, to "convince the Mexican-American youth that they are the victims of the 'oppressors'—white society." Is this really what we want taught to our kids? He has, thus far, absolutely refused to reveal why he hates the US - yet going purely by quotes from his post, there's no question that he holds strong anti-US sentiments. What's he hiding? grimmie 186 #2 May 25, 2010 What's he hiding? Maybe some relatives in the basement. There are just as many folks that post here that seem to hate America, or should I say in it's current state, just in a bit different way.

rhys 0 #12 May 25, 2010 I cannot comment on the person this poster is about but many will say that I hate america when it is not the case. I might dislike them personally, and the beliefs they follow but that is not representative of america as a whole. America includes many great things but unfortunately it also includes many bad things, and when was the last time you read in the paper that it was a nice day? Many dickheads in these forums certainly do not do the country and justice though, though they obviously think the sun shines out of thier ass. They are what we call FOSC's and seppos is the more common therm for that. It is absurd to take quotes like that and use them to claim that the poster (or teacher) who merely uses such materials in their posts (or courses) really believes in those quotes. Thanks for understanding the point of my post.

billvon 3,133 #21 May 25, 2010 >Teachers generally work off required curriculums and have little say in >what they teach unfortunately. Sometimes true, unfortunately. Which goes even further to my point - a science teacher who teaches evolution (or creationism in Texas) may not even subscribe to either position. Posting a quote from a required textbook that says something like "The biblical myth that the universe was created by the Judeo-Christian God in 7 days" and then claiming that therefore the teacher is an anti-Christian pro-abortion secular humanist would be silly.
