We have also built a few power plants in Arizona that we're making some money on selling them power. If either of those things bother them, they should feel free to return the money and not buy the power.

Arizona, on the other hand, take in more money than it gives.

Nope. As a whole, California pays more to the Federal Government than they get back. As a whole, Arizona takes more than they pay.

Perhaps. Or they might see their economy suffer in comparison to other states as they lose much of their labor force, and companies start to relocate. We'll see in a year or so.

"Red" states tend to be more rural, without the large cities to provide masses of workers that the blue states have. Due to that, they tend to be on the negative side of the scale in regards to federal money received vs. federal taxes paid.

So, while what bill and kallend are saying is *technically* true, it's misleading.

Which raises another interesting point. Once they lose that cheap farm labor, they may take yet another hit as the farms start to go under. But I have a feeling California will continue to support them nevertheless.
