QuoteI'm pretty sure that most rational people realize there is a hell of a lot more baggage attached to "nigger" than to "teabagger".
There are some generally recognized words that American society has agreed are highly offensive. "Nigger" is very obviously among them. "Teabagger" is not.
I think you really know this, but for some reason can't bring yourself to admit it.
I don NOT like or use the N word
That is not the point here though it is
You wanna play gotcha got do it with some other person who thinks politcal correctness is a good thing I DONT
You want to put degrees in it fine! That works for you not me
But, just because YOU dont think a word is offensive or should not be does not make is so
What you show is a huge disrespect for others opinons
In this case I chose not to
Paddle you oun boat and own up to it
if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

I already said that if people find "teabagger" highly offensive I would not support its use.
The fact that you refuse to recognize that "nigger" is inherently highly offensive to most people is disingenuous. Period.
I don't think political correctness is a good thing at all. I also don't think hurling racial slurs around is a form of civilized debate. Airman120 was in the wrong, and you are defending him. That's what this is about. It's clear as day to everyone but you.

Unless there is a reason that you are choosing to avoid answering the questions.
Perhaps untruth? Is that it?
Another person suggesting I'm a liar?
Marc figured it out in just a few minutes, why are you so slow?
It's easy to prove that it happened.

Ask Marc, he knows. He only took 7 minutes to say he had figured it out already. I guess he's just quicker than you.

Did you miss the post wher I said we didn't speak and I would rather have information from the original source?

Wrong about what?

He used an offensive slur. I replied with an offensive slur. Now you're getting on MY case for using an offensive slur.
You really don't see the hypocrisy here?

QuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteQuotewhat would be a suitable name to call a tea party member, .....?
Tea Partier?? seams reasonable to me. I'm not in nor do I contribute to the party, but when people refer to them as "tea-baggers" 9 times out of 10 it is a shot at the party meant to insult.
Is this to meant to insult. whaddaya think?
http://www.teabagbarackobama.com/
Insult or not, calling THEM "teabaggers" is appropriate, since teabagging is what they call for.
Just sayin', that teabag "insult" seems to work well on both ends .![]()
No shit.... if a liberal calls a conservative a dip-shit it pretty much has the same effect the other way around. It's all name calling and quite childish either way.
I think the image/t-shirt link you posted refers more to "instilling more conservative/fiscal fundamentals into the Obama policy", but maybe they are just implying some nuts in his mouth.

Everyone knows that "Teabagger" is extremely offensive... "Teabagga" isn't...

Dude
I never said it was not offensive and I have not defended anyone who used it. All I did do was fail to condem someone who did.

But to most people (as reflected in the reaction to those terms), the degree of offensiveness is pretty significantly different. To some people, being hit wiht a big and a small stick is exactly the same, but to others the size of the stick matters.
I'm among the people who had no idea what "teabagger" meant until a couple of months into the Tea Party movement, when folks started objecting to it. But I for damn sure knew what nigger meant.
If I had a daughter and you called her a bitch it'd be one thing; if you called her a whore it'd be a whole 'nother thing (unless, of course, she was a prostitute for a living -- but even then the word is loaded).
Words are tools; they convey meaning and intention, both imperfectly. To say they convey only meaning is disingenuous.

QuoteTo some people, "teabagger" applied as a general term might be as offensive as "nigger" applied to the President (let's leave off the Hitler wannabe part for now).
.
Someone who runs is called a runner. Someone who skydives is called a skydiver. Someone who sails is a sailor. Someone who teaches is a teacher. Someone who advises is an adviser. Someone who manages is a manager.
If people describe, on their own web site, what they do as "teabagging", then they are teabaggers. That's just standard usage in the English language. I fail to see why Airman and Marc Rush disagree unless they are unaware of standard English.

Bla bla bla.... it's all semantics, but it's pretty obvious that it's most commonly used to insult.
Besides, show me where they refer to what they do as "teabagging" in the offical website: www.teaparty.org
