davjohns 1 #2 May 10, 2010 I've been working and the television has been going on about her. I noticed they mentioned the 'Don't ask. Don't tell.' issue for some reason. Is she openly gay? Not a joke. I haven't had time to learn anything about her and I was working / jumping this weekend.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

It is one of the few times she has given an opinion on a topic I dont know if she is or is not gay Does not really matter I guess unles she would push policy from the bench and as of yet there is no way to know"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." wmw999 2,589 #7 May 10, 2010 Here is another article from CNN about her. One thing to note about the article that you posted: while 42% say that they want the court more conservative as opposed to 27% wanting it more liberal, you have to remember that Stephens is one of the most liberal, if not the most liberal, of the current justices. So the court is almost certain to be more conservative than it is right now. Here's the full breakdown from the Gallup poll: More conservative: 42% More liberal: 27% About the same: 24% No opinion: 6% If you add the more liberal to the "about the same" you get 51%, which is definitely more than 42%. And, again, that's reality when you're talking about replacing the most liberal member. I'd prefer she have more judicial or practicing experience -- that was something I liked about Sotomayor. OTOH, at least the CNN article said that she looks for dissenting opinions when she's trying to formulate her own -- that's a good thing. Andy9o8 2 #9 May 10, 2010 Quote Or does anyone else think this Kagan person looks like the King of Queens in drag? Well I think so. It's because so many news websites seem to have gone out of their way to use this photo, with a particularly un-flattering freeze-frame pose: http://nimg.sulekha.com/others/original700/elena-kagan-2010-4-9-15-38-31.jpg No, she's never going to grace the cover of Elle Magazine. But if you do a Google Image search of her, that's just about the most un-flattering photo of the many dozens that are in the public domain and easily available with a click of a mouse. Makes you wonder, or at least go " ".

Thanks for the link It is just interesting finding out about her As for the make up on the court. Me, personally would want judges that look at laws as they compare to the guides and limitation within the Constitution Saddly, that has been gone for many decades Thanks again Wendy Marc"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Here's what it actually says; Quote Ben Domenech suggested a few weeks ago on a CBS blog that Kagan would be the first openly gay justice if confirmed, sparking backlash from liberals and a White House denial, its first public defense of a potential candidate during the current nomination process. CBS pulled the post and Domenech apologized, but he explained on his own website that he understood that Kagan was known to be gay in certain circles. So, it's the "opinion" of Ben Domenech, the blogger who co-founded the RedState group blog. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Domenechquade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Sorry, I get my opinions from me; I'm not one of those people who looks up Glen Beck to see what he thinks my opinion should be. But for news sources? Any and all. The BBC is a good one. Google and Yahoo both have good news services. The WSJ and the Financial Times are both good. CNN/NBC/CBS/ABC are fine for current events (natural disasters and the like) but are pretty worthless for political stuff.
