30% of the country might agree with you
The rest of us think you are fucking nuts

So, in your first post you are asking for debate, then when you get it you post this?

Do you know what debate means?

Yes I do, just as I know how generalizations are used in a debate. Do you?
"America will never be destroyed from the outside,
if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
Abraham Lincoln

didn't want to get into a pissing match with Lucky about it.

Why not? Even though it is the intellectual equivalent of kicking a puppy-it's a pretty good time killer when you're bored.

But-derogatory names bug you now enough to comment?
You are only as strong as the prey you devour

It does really suck but
it does not make a company evil as many would do here

Just as luck favors the well-prepared, accidents happen less often, or tend to be less dire, for the companies with safe practices. Because they have reduced the opportunity for problems, and are prepared to react quickly and more likely right when they happen.

So once we have an opportunity to see that it'll be closer to time to cast stones or sympathize.

Wendy P.

Companies are very reactionary in this though. They assign a dollar amount to a potential company risk and then calculate the cost to mitigate. All of the risks are grouped and the biggest potential ones receive funding and then continue down until the availble financing is used up. The only exception generally in regulatory.

There are two solutions: More regulations or force companies to fix what they break, without "free" gov't assistance.

I prefer the latter as it lets companies more clearly determine their acceptable risk and again take a proactive stance to issues, versus the endless cycle of getting new regulations and complying to them which stifles not only innovation but efficiency as
well.

"Sure it could cause billions in damage, but our share of that cleanup effort is projected to be only $750 million."
