Amazon 7 #1 April 12, 2010 Just curious where all the skydivers in SC fit into the income heirarchy and where you fit in class structure. And lets not pretend that most of the so called independents around here overwhelmingly are closet republicans. I am not talking about where you WISH to be... but current REALITY!!! You only have entries for democrats, republicans, people who live outside the US, and those with seven figure incomes. Many of us are none of the above. CanuckInUSA 0 #4 April 12, 2010 You did forget independents. But I guess people could treat "NON-US" as independents if people really wanted to participate here. BTW ... salary is not the best indication of wealth or poverty. A more accurate way to gauge things is assets versus liabilities. But that would make for a boring poll. I don't see much difference between the Republicans and Democrats. They both want a big governments and don't believe in the tenth amendment. Although the Republicans are supposedly pro-rich the tax system became more progressive under Bush 43. Although the Democrats are supposedly tax-and-spend liberals, Bill Clinton was responsible for well-fare reform and a balanced budget under accepted voting rules. I often vote for libertarians. Although they're unlikely to be elected for more than local offices, one of the big two might throw some concessions my way when they loose like the Republicans have with evangelical Christians. REALLLLLLY. I could try to vote for my own-interests but things don't work out that way. I could vote Republican because I like guns, but would be disappointed when my politicians do anti-gun things like Schwarzenegger signing a bill prohibiting mail-order ammunition sales. I could vote Democrat because I think adults should be able to party with substances other than alcohol, although Democrats have a long history of endorsing decriminalization (like Jimmy Carter) and backing off once elected for political reasons. kelpdiver 2 #9 April 12, 2010 aside from the issue of this false binary choice, the salaries need to be better tied to regional cost of living.

rhys 0 #15 April 12, 2010 I checked the $100k plus circle. With my wife it is more like $200K Combined. it seems the republicans are getting axious to reveal thier income, probably because thy don't have that billion dollars just yet, they feel like they don't quite fit in? I am perfctly happy where I am financially, the only real improvement I could make is moving home and being my own operator. Which is happening this year by the looks of things. Then I could operate when I feel it is suitable and have a passive income when I retire. I'm living the Rhyso dream. kallend 2,230 #17 April 12, 2010 I dispute that class correlates well with income. Michael Vick, for example, is as low class as you can get. So are Governor Sanford and Ex-Governor Blagojevitch... Family size makes a big difference too. I had more disposable income making 1/2 what I do now but living in a place which was only moderately expensive with no one else sharing my earnings.
