Hypocrisy

Recommended Posts

USA Today, which has been running an intermittent series critical of general aviation, carried a story on Friday about corporate flights "hidden" from public view.

www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2010-04-08-blocked-flights_N.htm

Turns out that its own corporate execs are among those who had requested to have their flights hidden,

(also on the list of those who wanted their flights hidden is a televangelist with 5 tax-exempt planes that include a T28. Nice the way those rich folks can avoid taxes on their toys.)

:D:D:DSWEET!

I don't have a problem with guys having there info blocked from Flightview.com or anything. All that will do is give the paparazzi more tools to stalk people among other reasons. I think its funny that USA today is bitchin about this but there own people are doing it. :D
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Something insanely ironic and funny about a televangelist claiming a Trojan is being used for humanitarian missions.

Class envy is so unbecoming...

Planes on the list range from those owned by Fortune 500 companies such as bailout recipient American International Group, to college athletic programs, such as the University of Alabama, which say they request flight privacy to hide coach searches and recruiting trips. Also granted secrecy were planes registered to federal agencies, churches and newspaper owners.

In 2008, after the Big Three auto executives found themselves in the spotlight for flying corporate jets to Washington to plead for aid from Congress, General Motors used the system to block its flights from the public. It declined to say why.

Tax advantages in a capitalist society create the incentive to reach beyond your grasp. Whereas in a socialist society one hopes they can just grasp something.

BTW, Kenneth Copeland has been a pilot and aircraft trader all his adult life. So far as I know, all he would have to do is make one flight for business/ministry purposes per year for his T-28 to qualify as a tax exemption.

When I was in the air show business, we frequently used DC-3's from JAARS and Missionair, as well as JAARS Heliocourier for our exhibition jumps. Ministries frequently share.

You don't use the rules of the tax code to reduce or eliminate your taxes? I'll bet when your tax returns are being filled out, you are looking for every thing you can deduct. Speaking of hypocrisy.

Once again, right wing conservative morons step up to the plate to defend that which is indefensible.

The scumbags abuse the tax code so that they can NOT pay their fair share of taxes and that is totally fine with you. What the fuck is wrong with you people? I thought that a key principle of RWC was fiscal responsibility. Just goes to show what hypocrites y'all are.

There is NO WAY a T-28 Trojan should be tax exempt. That is a TOY. A really BIG toy, but a toy. It can't be used for anything practical that would "further the ministry".

If by "abuse" you mean that you do everything allowable by the tax code(tax laws) to reduce your taxes, then yes, they are scumbags. The people on the left that do the same thing must not be scumbags though. Your hypocrisy is showing. :$

Why don't you go look up what a T-28 Trojan is. Then come back and let us know if it is remotely possible that the aircraft could be used in furtherance of a RELIGIOUS mission for the good of the "church".

A big honking WWII warbird is NOT something that is legit to be under the tax exempt unbrella of this so called "church".

I am not against legit tax exemptions and tax deduction. This one isn't.

You can claim anything you want to RE: IRS paperwork. As long as you don't get audited, you may get away with tax evasion and fraud. Getting away with it doesn't make it right. I expect a so called "religious organization" to have better morals and ethics than what has occurred in this instance.

Just for clarification - Do you believe that a WWII warbird is an item that should be a tax exempt asset for a "church"? Why?

I don't think that churches should get ANY special treatment under the tax code. They should pay taxes on their property and assets. No special treatment needed.

>You don't use the rules of the tax code to reduce or eliminate your taxes?

Most people do. But if you break those rules (like, say, claiming a jet trainer is being used for humanitarian aid, or strippers are part of your business expenses) then you go to jail.

Yup that just has to twist the fuck out of your tightie-whities of all of you in the PUBIC PATROL..you gotta ask yourself how many of the clientele are good church goin conservatives.... like some of the good ole boys here in SC.. who like the same kind of "entertainment" on Sat night... then get their absolution on Sunday mornin with the little wiffee at church.

I wonder if the guy with the T-28 gets it up in the sky so he can get his boyfriend to get him off when he gets back on the ground so he can deliver his LOAD of "humanitarian supplies"

can be used for marketing and brand awareness-lots of legitimate corporate uses for a warbird. USA Today hasn't exactly been even handed when they cover general aviation.

Actually, I can make a case for their use in missionary ventures. In third world countries they could be used as an attraction. Any aircraft in a remote landing strip attracts attention.

A missionary offered demo jumps in Central America to me because the people love these shows.

However, my experience with the Air Commandos during the 60's reminds me that they can be armed with guns, rockets and bombs. Such armament could be useful when dealing with socialist antagonists at revivals in remote nations.

I'm pretty astonished by all the hate directed towards rich folks who do what they can to minimize their tax burdens. There's nothing wrong with arranging things within the law to lower the amount of taxes you owe.
