sundevil777 102 #30 April 10, 2010 QuoteBut the reality is, when a negro guy (or gal) comes into a middle classed environment to apply for a job and a caucasian guy has the same credentals, the caucasian guy will be chosen over the negro guy. rhys 0 #34 April 10, 2010 Quote Wow...just wow Unsure Negros? Seriously? Can you explain what is so wow about the tern negro? I refrain from saying black or white when describing ones origin, since the term 'black' has been used so far, that would tell me we are talking about negro's? Where I come from it is considered disrespectful to call someone black, or white or yellow or red. From what I have learned, one cannot ascertain ones genus from the colour of their skin alone, I personally know more than one negro with pale skin (albinos), I know mongoloids that have red hair and freckles and I know Caucasians that have much darker skin than many negro. Genes are not all pure. The terms white and black and red are remnants from when blatant racism and slavery were not shunned in society and the true meanings of the terms are nothing more than racist and narrow minded. I prefer not to use them, but you are free to do as you please, but is suggest don't do it in a pub with Maori and Islanders in New Zealand, It could be hazardous to your health. They are not Negro they are mongoloids but they hate the term none the less and I respect that. The sooner people are simply 'people' regardless of what their genes are, the better! We have moved incredibly forward in this respect but it will take a few generations to die off before these general terms will disappear. America like with everything else, will take a few more decades to catch on!"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

It could be hazardous to your health. Black or African-American is what is used here. Negro or Colored is usually considered offensive. Yes, there is the United Negro College Fund and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, but those organizations were founded in a time when those terms were acceptable. These people are not limited to America, though this conversation is about opression of negroid people in the USA, negroids are found in all reaches of the planet, just as Caucasians and Mongoloids are, as well as Australoids. Determining ones worth by where there ancestors came from is simply shallow, it is rife, and that is life but is it shallow and unintellegent. Such is life. I'll take your word for it and not call negroids, 'negros' in america. But whatever way you look at it; all negroids are negroids but not all negroids are black!"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
Andy9o8 2 #39 April 10, 2010 A kiwi is a fruit. A kiwi is a New Zealander. In the US, calling someone a fruit is slang for calling them a homosexual. So New Zealanders in the US are homosexuals.
rhys 0 #40 April 10, 2010 Get your facts straight bro; A kiwi is a bird, a flightless bird without wings. and an outstanding example of evolution. A 'kiwifruit' is a fruit that was renamed a number of decades ago for marketing purposes, they were previously referred to as 'chinese gooseberrys'. The name 'chinese gooseberry' was not good for marketing, back in those days... Why do 'you' think 'Chinese Gooseberry' wouldn't have been a good name for an export fruit in the 1950's?"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

I don't recall ever hearing it used in a bad way, most cases I heve heard 'african american' people using it to refer to each other. In the US, it's now considered to be arcane by a matter of decades, except in now-elderly people for whom the term was common when they were much younger. Cultural contexts, and perceptions, of certain vernacular both (a) vary from one country or culture to another, and (b) change over time. Kindly review the following article on this subject, and then research it out further as you see fit: Wikipedia article on the word "Negro" QuoteAre you taught about negroids, mongoloids and caucasoids at school and possible separate australoids? I was, when I was a school kid, as were my own kids, each of us growing up in the US. I presume our experiences were more or less typical for our respective age groups. Just because a person(black or white) works for a company as a blue color worker does mean they are qualified to work in management. Being a manager usually requires a different skill set. QuoteWith such a high percentage of negro employees one would expect a high percentage in the mangement also. You are unreal man! My lead is from Jamaica and the other lead is white. So what does that tell you? Nothing! We have a mix of people and thats it. So go live in your white guilt world and call everyone a racist to make you feel better. If you look at where we work being a racist would be a tough thing to chew. We have people from every corner of the world. It's New York for christ sake. Dominican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, African, Polish, Russian, Everywhere! But go pick it apart and try to find a reason or a way to seperate us and then call us racist. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
